to take the concepts 1-7 , one has to first finish the general education 31 semester hours. i got this from the admission:
6 semester hours humanities
6 semester hours social science/history (life span development psychology and sociology)
8 semester hours natural science/mathematics (anatomy and physiology and microbiology)
7 semester hours arts and sciences electives
3 semester hours written english requirement
1 semester hour information literacy requirement
can anyone explain mors in detail that what kind of courses ( the name and the field) belong to humanities, arts and sciences elcetives and information literacy requirement and so on?
normally, if one had micro, anatomy and physiology, psychology and english composition finished, does she qulify to take concepts1-7 directly? what is your experiences in taking the prerequired coures?

Where did you read that a person has to finish the general education hours first? I guess it worked out that way for me, but I wasn't aware that it was a rule.
the general education is like prerequired courses before startin gthe real nursing courses. I found this in the letter sent by the Excelsior admission office.

Well things have change. You need to finish all these prereqs and the NC 1-7 to graduate from EC. But, taking them all before taking the NC exams is news to me. Please contact them for clarification :)

You just have to finish certain classes first .. The others you have to have done before you can do the CPNE. I cant remember which ones and I just looked it up last night... ...lol

You do not need to complete all your general education requirements, I am currently enrolled and took classes/tests in the following order: lifespan, NC1, NC2 and Analyzing and Interpreting lit, Eng comp (at local CC), A&P 1 and Info lit (at local CC) and have just finished Micro (at local CC) and tested for NC7, I am currently studying for NC3 and will start A&P at my local CC in the fall. As you can see I have mixed things up quite a bit and have not had a problem. You just need to get the classes in to graduate and NC1-7 to take CPNE, you can have 9 gen ed recquirements remaining and if you took NC1-7 you are CPNE eligible.

That information does not sound correct. According to the website you need 21 of the general ed of the 31 to take the CPNE so I don't see how that could be a requirement to finish all pre-reqs before even taking the NC's......you may want to check with them
