Admission/Acceptance to Georgia Regents/Georgia Health Sciences

Published

Hello! I just joined and couldn't find any other thread that had anything about admission stats or anything for Georgia Regents (formerly Georgia Health Sciences) and I am so nervous about getting into the BSN program, I applied with my first choice in Athens, and second as Augusta.. I have a 3.7 and got an 86 on the TEAS V and was wondering if anyone knew if that was competitive or what your stats were?!

HELLPPPPPPP :nailbiting:

I am not sure if anyone answered this question yet or not, but I finally located the academic calendar and the first day of class is August 19th.

Where did you find the calendar?

It takes some exploring on the new website. Here is a link!

For all of you ladies that have been accepted, did your status change to 'Decision made by Admissions Committee; notification is by mail'? My status just changed to that this morning. Because it is so close to May 1st, I am wondering if they are sending out rejection letters now? After seeing how competative it is and after looking at the qualifications posted on this forum by those who have been accepted, I am fairly certain that I'm not going to be accepted.

Hey! Meant to add this last week but my friend who is waiting to hear talked to nursing admissions office and they said that 1. They ARE running behind due to the move but they expect ALL decisions to be made by the second week in may. 2. They sent about 100 acceptances/ rejections to the actual admissions office last week to be processed by admissions and to be sent out! So this is good news! Some should be hearing this week and for others, while it sucks that they are behind, at least you now know you'll be hearing soon! I know y'all must hate waiting but keep your heads up! I hope to see you all in the fall!!:)

Am I the only one that is super excited about receiving information about uniforms and clinical packs? I cannot wait to start buying stuff for school!

I'm here trying to keep myself calm because this waiting game is no fun.

I understand, but it sounds like they are sending out the remaining letters now. Has your status changed? The above poster stated theirs changed this morning, have you checked?

Yes me too!! I emailed asking if there was anything I could start buying like a stethoscope but I never heard back:( I want to start buying so that I don't have to spend all that money at once! But I'm really excited to see out uniforms! I heard they changed!

I read on the website or the FB page that they were changing as well. I just hope they are not white :(. My hubby bought me a stethoscope but I really want to buy the rest of the clinical packs. I cannot wait to buy scrubs and shoes as well. I am with you that I would like to be able to break up the cost a little over the summer.

I have a 3.57 GPA and only a 76 on the TEAS (totally bombed the math section! I have A's in all my math courses though so I was hoping they would equate that to "inability to do math problems without a calculator" ;) ). I don't have any experience in the medical community. I do have over 600 hours of volunteer/community service but none nursing related and that is over a span of years. I tried to include my leadership experiences from my 8 yrs served in the military as well but seeing as there are so many military folks in this GA, I doubt it contributed much.

Try and be optimistic. I think a lot of the accepted students have a mix of stats but the great thing about GRU is that they take into consideration the person, not just the statistics. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you hear that you were accepted.

Did you apply for Athens or Augusta?
