Hey, I am an licensed RN in Arizona and i am thinking about getting ceritfied to administer Botox and Derma fillers. Does anyone know what the AZ State Board regulations are about this, or are in this field and can shed some light if it is fairly easy to get into? I know as an RN you have to be overseen by an MD due to the perscription requirements for Botox. Thanks!

Hi I am also interested in Botox/derma fillers (however I am still in school).
From what I have been told by the Rn's I have spoke to here in AZ, you need to be RN certified, and also have a medical esthetician licence. Botox/derma filler companies train you on their specific products. Hope this helps, have you tried looking on azbn.gov? Or maybe dropping by a med spa and asking one of the nurses? The med spa I go to is owned and ran by an RN who has her medical esthetician licence, and does not need to work under a MD.

If you're in Arizona you should check out the National Laser Institute
They certify nurses, doctors and aestheticians from all over the nation.

One of my coworkers is trained to do botox etc. She can't find a doc to work under. She would love to throw one of those parties but...
