I am applying as a transfer student and took the TEAS on 3/28, but I have not got any result from the school.
Another school gave me an admission, and asked me for deposite as soon as possible. But I like Adelphi better, so I am eager to get the result from Adelphi.
By the way: My TEAS reading is 61.9%, but other sections are good, am I fine for admission?
Thanks so much!
Lol, I wish that were the case! Did NYU get back to you yet? I think I will call Adelphi tomorrow and ask if I can take the test again to get a higher grade. I didn't have time to study. I signed up for the test on April 9th, didn't get the book until the 11th and I took the test on the 18th. I did read through the book and I did the practice tests but I would've liked to have more time. If they let me take it again I can take it on the 6th of June so I will have plenty of time to prepare.
Well, I just called Adelphi and asked if I should retake the test to get a better grade. The lady said no because I passed all the sections so as long as I passed I'm in good shape. She also said they don't go by the grade you got on the entire test. They look at the score you got in the sections. Hopefully my GPA can carry me the rest of the way.

Hi, I have some questions reagrding the nursing program, If someone could help me I would really apprexiate it.
I have a bachelor degree in management and my gpa is 2.7 ( not good), I want to enroll inthis accelerated nursing program but not sure how to go about it. I dont have any science, or bio class except for english and math.
Can i get in with this and finish my prereqs later? or i have to get them done before? someone one help....
how long is will take for me to finish? how much the tution. can i get loans?
Someone HELPPPPP
I just checked my status and I am happy to know I am admitted.
Anyone got the formal documents package from adelphi? Like the admission notice, credit transfer, financial aid, health form, etc.
Hartwick college offers me 21,000/year grant, so I will try to compare how much adelphi can offer me.
To tan123: I think you have finish all the prerequite courses before your nursing program, this may take 1 year, but depends on how many courses needed and your own pace. You can take these courses in your community college, it is much cheaper and apply for financial aid from FAFSA. Hope these help you.

Thank you so much for replying.
I know community colleges are cheaper way to go. I would've gone through the whole program with them but the waiting list is just too long. eventhough i will be probably paying like tons of money for the 2 year program but I will finish faster.
One think I wanted to know is that since I have a degree and I had to take lons for it, will I be able to take lons agin for this program, since this will be like getting a second degree?
How much this whole program will cost me for two years?
when does it start. or the dead line to apply?
I know I am asking more questions but I trid calling the school and they weren't any help over the phone..
Tan123: Yes, this is the second degree for you.
How much this whole program will cost and when does it start totally depends on the school.
Some accelerated program is less than 2 years, go to the schools' website to check their requirements, the application deadline, the tuition and everything you want, then decide which schools are fit you.
It depends on what school you want to go to and what degree you want. CUNY is cheap but the waiting lists are long. You could try private, like Adelphi for BSN or Beth Israel for ASN. It really depends on what you want. If you apply to Adelphi you do have to do all your sciences before starting clinicals but once you're in the school you are also in the program. Everywhere else you have to apply to the school and then apply again to their nursing program, real headache. My advice, if you can afford it, stick with the private schools. The admissions process is much less stressful. Good luck!

you definitely have higher grades than i do... my overall gpa is 3.48; i have a 1 a, 2b+, 1b, and 2b-'s in my science courses.. i think you have a very good chance of getting in.
my test score was 80%, 120 out 150 questions correct. the test version is "test of essential academic skills v form a."
yea, i know how you feel... i would want to retake it also if i were you. did you prepare before the exam? i did not prepare because i took the net exam before and i was expecting this one to be just as easy as that one. however, i do wish i would have studied a bit for this one so i could score a higher grade on it than i did. you should call them in a day or two to ask if you could get a decision about your application. just tell them that you have to make a deposit for nyu or something before may 1st, but you really wanted to go to adelphi instead lol.
