Adelphi nursing, anyone took TEAS 03/28 get any information?

U.S.A. New York

Published

I am applying as a transfer student and took the TEAS on 3/28, but I have not got any result from the school.

Another school gave me an admission, and asked me for deposite as soon as possible. But I like Adelphi better, so I am eager to get the result from Adelphi.

By the way: My TEAS reading is 61.9%, but other sections are good, am I fine for admission?

Thanks so much!

I will definitely let you know. Glad to hear NYU is good as well. It's nice to know that not ALL the schools in NY have incompetent people working for them. I have the same problem with the lines for EVERYTHING at Queensborough. Hopefully I will get into Adelphi. Keep your fingers crossed for me and I'll keep mine crossed for you to get into NYU. ;)

I think that is how all schools in the CUNY system are.. There are hundreds of thousands of students, all together, enrolled in CUNY... But I do wish you luck with Adelphi and thanks for keeping your fingers crossed with me lol. Let me know if you get accepted!

Hi, Jason, have you received the formal package from the Adelphi?

The admission officer told me the transfer student has two years to graduate, but I heard someone said it will take 3 years to graduate. Do you know how long it will take exactly?

I have not received a formal package yet, or maybe I have but I have not been home in a few days. I do know I've been accepted, however, because I was told that if the website states you've been accepted then that means you DID get accepted. And when I attended the open house they laid out the curriculum and the courses exactly as we would have to take them by semester. Since the curriculum is completely new, beginning in the fall, it will only take 4 semesters for every student to finish their BSN.

Thanks Jason, you are very proactive

Here comes the new week. Anyone took TEAS on 03/28 get any information?

I have not, just told me my application is complete and reviewing

How long have you had that status for? On my application it said the same thing for about a day or two and then I checked and it showed me as an accepted student for the fall semester. I've also been given my student ID number and login. I tried login in a few times but I think they are still working on registering me because I cant login yet.

I got my TEAS grade on 4/2, then I keep waiting for 3 weeks now.

I got an admission from Hartwick College, they ask me to make some deposite as soon as possible, and the classes will begin 6/1. but I like Adelphi better, so I really eager to know my admission.

I think you should give them a call and ask them if there is any way you could find out your status because you have to submit intent to enroll deposits to other schools that have accepted you into their nursing program ASAP. However, let them know that Adelphi was your number one choice and you would love to go to that school. Other people have tried this for the NYU program and they've been successful. I called NYU as well and told them the same story and they said they would have a decision made for me before the end of this week.

Ok, Jason, you have to help me. I just checked to see if my scores were posted and they were. I got a 72%. I don't know if that's good or not. the national mean is 62% and the program mean is 64%. It also says in the right hand corner: ATI Academic Preparedness Category- Proficient. What the hell does all this mean???

Yes, Adelphi is my first choice.

I called them, just ask me to wait another week.

Endless waiting~~

Hmm, seems like you might have a grim future in terms of getting into Adelphi. Your score basically means that you placed a little above the average score in the nation, as well as a little above average from the collection of students who took the exam at the same time you did.

From what I know, Adelphi selects the top tier students first. They gather both, the students GPA and their TEAS score, then they average out the two to place you in a list from best to worst. From there, they begin selecting down the list. If you have outstanding grades then I don't think you should worry too much. However, as long as your GPA is above 3.0, you shouldn't knock off your chances of getting into the school because there will be students who have been accepted into the program and will decide to go to another school, thus freeing up extra space for students who were not yet chosen.

Also, FYI, I landed in the 94th percentile in the nation with my overall test grade.

If NYU gives me acceptance I might withdraw my intent to enroll to Adelphi (which I already paid) and free up some space in their selection process for you guys. Good luck!

Well, currently my GPA is 3.72. I'm taking 2 classes and have A's in both so far so my GPA will go up a little if I keep up with the coursework. I really hope I can get in with that. I called them today to ask if I should retake the test to get a better score. The lady from admissions told me no because I passed everything. She said they don't look at the overall score they look at the scores you received in each category on the test and since I passed there is no need for me to take it again. Maybe I should speak to someone else about this. What do you think?

jasonnunez

what was you actual teas score and what version did you take? i just curious as i'm trying to determine what scores equate to the various percentile rankings.

thanks!

My actual score was a 72%, that is why I wanted to take it again but the lady said I didn't have to. I think I'm going to call later today and explain the situation again. I was told by the proctor that you could take the test again 45 days after the first one if you didn't pass. I want to take it again, even though I passed, to get a better grade and increase my chances of getting in. Thanks for trying to help me Jason. I really appreciate it.
