I'm about to start my first semester of nursing school.
I am taking:
Nursing Fundamentals: NUR 109
Basics of Pharmacology: NUR 112
Math for Clinical Calculations: MAT 103
Are there any additional resources any of you would recommend for these classes? Besides the required textbooks of course.
Thanks for your input!

I just finished my first semester. The Q&A Success for Fundamentals by Davis. The series has practice problems with very detailed rationales. I also like Mosby's pharmacology cards. They are 4X6 cards in a box. I Purchased both on Amazon. If your program does a lot of care plans, I like the Care Plan book by elsevier. You can get used books on Ebay and Amazon. Good Luck!
Thank you!

Calculate with Confidence is an awesome book to pick up if your school doesn't already require a dosage calculations book. I actually used it to teach myself dosage calculations before my first semester started. My program didn't have a specific drug calculations class, we just had about an hour of instruction and basically had to teach ourselves the rest. Being familiar with the material already ended up being great.
MediQuick Drug Cards are fantastic. I actually didn't end up using them very much during my pharmacology class, but they were great for my 1st semester simulations and clinical.
The last thing I picked up before my 1st semester started was a Saunders NCLEX review book. I paged through it before starting classes just to get a better idea of the types of questions that would be asked on exams. I also used it to help review topics before exams.

I used the Davis Success Books too, they helped a ton! Math for meds the math portion was pretty basic, for the things I needed to memorize (conversions, needle lengths, etc.) I just made a quizlet and added on as we got new info. I did the quizlet once or twice a week, so by the time finals rolled around it was all committed to memory and that was a class I didn't have to study for.
We have pharm second semester at my school, so I haven't had a chance to try out the flash cards mentioned by others, but that's what my study group plans to use once classes start back up.
Good luck!

free flashcards you can google for online on whatever your topic for the week is. record your lectures, there is a great little easy to read book called exam cram that i like, its an nclex review book. But learn your notes word for word and look at the charts/boxes in the textbook.
Be sure to get permission to record lectures. My school has a strict "no recording" policy
