Active RN Status and No direct Patient Care

Published

Hello everyone,

It has been awhile since I have posted on here. But here is an update: After starting this program in June, my RN license is now active again! I am looking for work in case management because I have to start with no direct patient care. This will be difficult for me as I was on working as an RN for a month before I messed up. I have a BA and worked as a health aide for 2 years before I started nursing school. I am still grateful because I have a part time job currently and I am enjoying recovery! Any suggestions however on possible jobs to apply to would be great! I live in Southern CA! Thank you!

I don't know. A young and unexperienced nurse looking for a job with no patient care. I think that's a tough spot. Is working in a doctors office considered direct patient care? I truly somebody else has better insight than me. Sorry

I'm not sure, I will ask! Thank you!

I wish you the best!!!

What about tele monitor? You just need to know your cardiac rhythms and sit and look at the monitors all day. Call the nurses when you see something funky.

I will check that out! Thank you!

Just wanted to give an update...I have found a job as an RN case manager that is full time with benefits, an hour for lunch,(allowing me to drug test), and I get off in time to make meetings! I'm so excited and feel so fortunate!

You are very lucky! Congratulations on the job. Around here you can't get a case manager job unless you have case management experience.. even with 20 years nursing experience! In fact around here, it's extremely difficult to get a nursing job period (even without restrictions) despite the so-called nursing shortage!

Thank you!! Good luck to you, hopefully you find something soon!
