Has anyone here sat for the CCRC exam. I am scheduled to take it this Sat and I feel relatively confident. I was just wondering if anyone had any last minute tips for the exam.

How did it go?

All I had heard were nightmare stories about the exam. I have one coworker who has taken it multiple times and failed all attempts. I don't know. Maybe I prepared better, maybe I am a better test taker. I thought it was pretty easy but we will see in 6 weeks when I get my results.

what does this exam test you on? Sorry, I'm bit clueless at this point. Believing to get more knowledgeable and better with time.\

Thank you.

The test deals with all aspects of study management, documentation, subject coordination, protocol activities, and specifically the federal regulations that govern clinical trials. If you are interested in learning more check out the ACRP or SoCRA websites. They will point you to the specific CFRs that deal with clinical research

anc33,

I will be taking the CCRC exam on September 12th. How did you prepare for your exam when you took it? I am contemplating about purchasing ACRP's CRC Online Exam Preparation Package, but it is quite costly ($230). Can you give me some guidance. I've searched online, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information regarding free practice tests, etc.

Thanks!

Yes, the prep course is very expensive. I think the paucity of affordable study material is one factor that leads to so many people having to take the test multiple times. I just studied the applicable CFR parts. All are available on the FDA website. Know them backwards and forwards. You won't have to memorize the exact section where information found but know bigger section headings. Good luck.

Hi - thanks for your reply. So basically you just studied CFR stuff and everything else was through your experience as coordinator? Do you you have to know specific dates/time period - things like that (i.e. When was Belmont Report or Declaration of Helsinki established?) or is pretty much all critical thinking?

I attended and received materials for a Fundamentals in Clinical Research Class (Beginner and Intermediate) from an IRB that we work with. The notes go into a lot of the stuff mentioned in the CCRC study outline - I'm planning to study from that also - I hope this material and FDA guidelines are enough.

Again, any I'd appreciate any info you can give me and many thanks for your help.
