ACLS

Does anyone know if you can recertify online? I see numerous sites but don't know if they are legite????

My employer requires your ACLS recert be obtained at facilities they recognize.

They wouldn't recognize an online site.

You can take an American Heart Association accredited on line course. But you still need go to a 2 - 3 hour class to do the mega code and get your card from the AHA. And you need a current BLS card.

Brownbook is correct. We have a great facility in the DC area, the George Washington University faculty emergency medicine department, that has a wide variety of both on line and in-person ACLS courses. The online component must be followed by a classroom portion that includes a hands-on test to confirm skills.

What If my current ACLS has expired

Then you start over. That's what "expired" means.

I called out local hospital and they advised me we have 1 year after our expiration date to still be able to recert but I am getting different information from different sources. Thanks for the info. just for the record I know what expired means but thanks for the lesson.
