So after a long 3 years and 3 summers in the making, I finally got the call on the 7th that I was accepted into nursing school!!! It was the best feeling in the world almost like a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. When I look back, every hour spent studying and all the countless nights preparing for exams in different classes, it was all worth it. Can't believe the first hardest part of getting into nursing school is over. All I gotta is it feels great!!! To any of you aspiring to be nurses, it's definitely a great feeling once you get up to this point, but always remember that there will be struggles along the way. I believe though anyone can get in as long as they put the effort, determination, and willingness to be "hungry" to get accepted. If there is one thing I did learn is not to stress yourself out too much. Take breaks here and there, but still balance your extracurricular activities and schoolwork. If per say you're struggling with information in chemistry, go to your professor's office hour to get a better explanation. Anyways, just wanted to throw my two cents in there. Good luck to everyone this semester along with those waiting for their calls, emails, or acceptance letters!!!
If you guys have any further questions, feel free to PM or post up here.

That's great! But wow, I wouldn't want to be getting that call this late! There is so much to do before school! Or are you starting in January? I start in two weeks and orientation is Monday! We only had about five weeks to get everything done on certified background, all shots, background check, drug test, etc. But now that's all behind me and all I can do is hurry up and wait for Aug 26.
I took pre reqs for a couple years but it was mostly part time, summers too. Several BIO courses (four, including A & P I & II), Chemistry, two psych courses, Sociology, a humantities elective (Western Civ, I do NOT recommend it!), a few Math courses..... but I have been out of high school a loooong time, so maybe you will get by with far less.
Oh okay, thanks so much!
Sorry for the late reply. Anyways, my three summers has been busy. The first summer session I did was just Biology 181. The second summer was Biology 201 (Anat. & Psio I), but I made a C in that and retook my third summer and got an A. Took Biology 202 as well the same time as 201, which made things very busy. Non stop studying everyday and basically didn't have enough time to really hang with friends, etc. I made a C in that, but that was by far the most interesting class as well as challenging since you're applying many different concepts such as the endocrine system how neuroepinephrine and epinephrine are hormones that regulates sympathetic (fight or flight) or parasympathetic (rest and relax) responses. You'll hear about that in 202. My grades were pretty solid throughout the years I started since I was a freshman so a little C didn't make too much of a difference. Be wary though and talk to your counselors and your nursing college for more info. To be honest, I asked the nursing students up in my school when I was down in Tucson (U of A) how the program was and what they told me was more specific. So try that out. It's not bad during the summer, but it's more condensed depending on how long the class is. Good luck!
Thanks, I start in September at Chamberlain College of Nursing down here in Phx. I have orientation next week to get my class schedule, background check, and finger printing done. Good luck to you! I'll be making a thread on the first week.
That was very helpful! Thanks! & Good luck to you as well!
Thanks. Don't stress out too much. Enjoy your years in school because it only gets harder, but still when you need a break take it. Don't constantly do work all day. Have some fun.
Still read your text book and always go to office hours when you feel confused or unsure. Be on top of everything.
Also, if your taking chemistry and math, practice practice practice.
