Specializes in Nurses who are mentally sicked.

I went to BOCES-Adult LPN Program before becoming an RN...

LPN Program would be very interesting...especially when I was almost finished the whole program...wanted to prolong a little be longer....the program was very stressful...but I survived.

Hope that you will have the same experience...

Good luck!!!

Thank you to the both of you.

I also got accepted into Rockland BOCES!!! (Fall 07) Did you receive your orientation letter yet?

Congrats!! deeelightfuldiva.

I received the letter stating that I got into the program, which told me orientation is on June 1st. Are you talking about that letter? or is there a separate letter? Anyway, congrats to you again and I guess I will be seeing you on June 1st 2007.

Did you make it to orientation on Friday? I completely forgot to seek you out.

Yeah..I was there, I sat towards the front on the right hand side, next to the window . What did you think of the orientation? I wanted to hear what the students had to say about the program but of course we ran out of time. I can not believe we only have 2 books, I wonder if they are going to provide us with other material?

OK. I sat at the very back of the room on the left side. I had to move every time sometime came through the door.

I thought that we would get more info at the orientation or different info other than what was in the book. I too, felt that having only two books was not enough. I'm hoping there are other books/material later on down the line.

Are you in the FT or PT program? I am in the FT, I need to get back into the workforce quickly.

I am in the FT program as well. When I moved to New York I had missed the deadline to alot of the nursing programs and I did not realize that it was so competitive here. So I just spent the passed year at Westchester Community College. I also applied to their LPN program but of course it was competitive. There was like over 400 people that applied and I heard there was only 40 spots. The bad part about it was the people who test for the RN program if they did not score high enough they got to be considered for the LPN program. So everyone who only did the LPN test got pushed down the list from what was explained to me. At this point, I don't want to wait, because I'm thinking about, what if I don't get in for Fall 2008, I would already have my associate's in liberal arts and not in nursing.
