Hello, I'm graduating with a BA in sociology from Lehman in May. I'm looking to apply to some nursing programs in the nyc area(open to aas programs)but Im looking for feedback on schools people have gotten into with grades similar to mine. I got an 86 on the TEAS V and an 88 on the HESI. My prereq grades are
AP1:A
AP2:C+
Micro:C-
Gen.Chem Lecture:B+ Lab:A
Orgo Lecture:C Lab:B
Statistics:A
If you really feel like nursing is for you, and you can't get in to an RN program because of your grades then maybe you should consider applying to an LPN program within CUNY and then if you are successful look into LPN to RN programs. By then your GPA should be higher.
Think about the reason those science grades were so low, you need a good understanding in science to get through nursing.
I wouldn't suggest a school that will put you deep in debt just to get past the GPA problem.
Good luck.
@undone thank you. I'm definitely going to BCC and applying to their program which I'm pretty sure I'll get in to. My science grades were low because I was at a really stressful point traveling 4 hours a day to work and school while taking AP2, Micro, and several other classes. It was just too much.
