Any applied and got into Simmons Accel Nursing Dix scholar in May-Sept 2011 and graduating 2013?
are you going to be living near campus? I'm in the process of apartment-hunting because I'm from the suburbs and commuting from the suburbs would be too difficult.
I am also in the process of apartment hunting. I currently live in the suburbs and commuting in at rush hour is awful. I currently have a 9:00 am at Simmons. Let's just say I am reading a lot of books (audiobooks) while I sit in traffic each morning.
haha yeah I would imagine. What areas are you looking in for apartments? I went to see an apartment on Alphonsus St on Friday--it was right at the beginning of the street so you can literally see down Longwood Ave from the bedroom window and the Longwood Medical T stop is seconds from the front door. But Mission Hill scares me a little even though people say it's safe...and the guy who lives there now emailed me after I left to tell me there was a shooting in the high rise across the street friday evening!

I am looking in Brighton, JP, and Brookline. I work in the suburbs and I will need my card, so I am looking for a place with off-the-street parking or non-permit parking. Hopefully something will turn up.

Yeah, I think those neighborhoods have a decent amount of parking. How are you going to work while doing the intense program? I thought Simmons wouldn't allow us to work

I am in the 2-Year program and I will have all my pre-reqs done before it starts in September. I work as a nanny and the family is VERY flexible with my school schedule.
I might be attending the 2 years program as well because I was disqualified for the 18 monthsdo you have an idea of how the schedule looks like, would it be possible to work part time meanwhile?
The fall schedule is more or less up. During the fall term we take Nursing 225 and Nursing 292. 225 meets on Tuesdays from either 1 - 4 or 5 - 8. 292 meets on Tuesdays from 8 - 10. The lab schedule isn't up yet, but hopefully soon.

Thanks for the info! I am still undecided in attending Simmons, I got accepted to MCPHS and Umass Boston so a big decision is ahead of me..
Jenna!! Please go to Simmons~!~!! MCPHS is not a good program--I got accepted there as well--and neither is UMass Boston. I have a friend who is now a nurse who did MCPHS's Boston tradition 4 yr program and she hated it--her professors QUIT mid-semester, etc etc, a mess!! The UMass Boston accelerated program is no better than MCPHS--I have another friend who is in it now. She got 1 bad grade and they kicked her out and put her into the traditional, longer program so it took her an extra year to finish. Simmons is known for EXCELLENCE in nursing--it is the BESTTTTT choice--you will not regret it!!
