Hello,
For those of you that have attended information sessions lately, what are the numbers looking like for Accelerated BSN programs? How many seats vs. how many applicants. Anyone looking at programs in Massachusetts?
Thanks!:)

For UMDNJ, the spring incoming class is 50 seats for 350-400 applicants.

For Johns Hopkins, it's 150 seats for the Accelerated and Traditional combined out of 1000 applicants.
Have you noticed my hair falling out yet?:uhoh21:

I read here that BC is very tough. And maybe Mass General, too. Do a search to look for that thread. I was told by a contact at UMASS Amherst that they take about half of the applicants.

University of Rochester SON is a private institution and VERY EXPENSIVE. I was told that starting this year and expecting next year to have low number of applicants just because of the cost of the program. However, the public university in Buffalo, same kind of program have higher number of applicants just because it cheaper!

Hey are you from NJ? I just applied to the Middlesex Community College/UMDNJ program for next fall. I already have a BA from Rutgers in Psychology. Can you tell me anything else about the program, what sort of wait lists do they have? I would really appreciate it.

Peachy, you are one of those IN. Bless you :)
Have I told you how much I love you lately, Jess?
Seriously, you've made my day.
Although I really am ready to tear my hair out. I know I can't compare myself to other people. I know that this is something that is right for me, and my dream. But when I'm from nowhere's university with a 3.5, compared to molecular biologists from Harvard with 3.95 and such, I feel like I've set myself up for heartbreak.
But thank you so much, girlie. You brought a great big smile to my face today.:heartbeat :redbeathe :1luvu:
Yes I'm in Jersey. Are you applying for the Accelerated BSN Program?
Well I applied by filling out the MIddlesex County College application. I think its for an AA. I just decided to apply and have begun learning about the whole process last month, so I am not up to par on all the programs around here. I know the MIddlesex program is affiliated with UMD-NJ. I did apply to the Rutgers accelerated program and regular one. I'm gonna look ino the UMDNJ one.

Cheryl,
I applied to the Associates Degree Nursing program at MCC too. I went to an information seminar in Sept. and was told that last year MCC had 700 nursing program applicants for 40 seats. I have my BA also with a 3.7 GPA and that previous GPA does not even count.
The price is so reasonable at MCC....that is why there are so many applicants. Muhlenberg's School of Nursing Diploma program is about $28K.
I looked into the BS programs at Rutgers (maybe $20K), Seton Hall ($40K), UMDNJ ($30K), and Georgian Court (same as Seton Hall). I do not know the number of applicants vs. seats at those schools.
Good luck in your quest!
Susan

My godness can I relate. It took what seemed forever for my letter to arrive. The same week 2 other letters from the school had arrived and my heart stopped each time. When the real deal came in, I almost cried when I saw the skiny envelope, but much to my surprise there it was with a beautiful message :rotfl:
I KNOW you will make it. You just gotta go through a bit more of "torture" :chuckle
Remember when we were in the A&P I club? Then part 2 started? Time really goes by fast. Don't dispair my dear (wink) :)
