I don't, and honestly I really wouldn't recommend one either. It's hard enough in a face-to-face format.

University of Wisconsin -Oshkosh. It is for people who have a bachelors in something other than nursing. I have talked to several people who have graduated from this program and know one person currently in it. The general feeling is that it is time consuming but doable for the motivated student. Good luck.

University of Oklahoma has an accelerated BSN program that is done 65% online and 35% in class. The majority of online material are things you can go over and learn with groups or on your own. All the class time was dedicated to lab time, meetings, specific course work, etc. You have an exam and clinicals (12hr) every week, sometimes twice a week!
Its a 14 month program and you need a Bachelors prior to attending.
I went and graduated in August. Its difficult but i managed to keep a part time job on the side, attend class and study all day. You meet with a group almost ever other day to go over concepts and to study the material. People with children in this program got through it too but it was truely very dificult to keep familiy life going.
If you are not diciplined this program will help you find it...If you dont think you can learn well by yourself, this program will make you do so. It is very challenging and if your up for learning alot about yourself, DO IT! I mean, i got through it....

nursevai, Sorry im trying to figure out how to message you as im new to allnurese and havent done this before. lol. I can def answer your questions...
I believe that the Spring 2010 was the last cohort admitted at OU Accelerated BSN Program for the San Diego/ Glendale locations. Anyways, you can find more info here: http://www.ounursing.com/sandiego/main/calendar.html
Fotero, Your right. However, the program is moving to SDSU (San Diego State University).
K Campos, I heard this is a good program. Where you able to get into a New Grad Program? are you in SD area? I am a RN with ADN and it has been very difficult for me to get into a new grad program, I graduated in 2007 and I started working in Public Health but I really want to get the clinical experience in acute care, which now is almost imporsible b/c the recruiters told me I am not a new grad anymore but I don't have the acute care experience to apply as a staff nurse in a hospital. I was thinking to enter in a refresher course at UCSD but I am not sure if the investment of time and money will get a job at any acute care setting.
It was a great program but now they are moving and are not going to be managed by OU (from what I understand). I used to live in SD but i had to move to Baltimore (where i know no one) cause they offered me a new grad position. To be honest, I was out of work for about 6 months and needed to work, so I looked out of state. Its getting really competitive everywhere and esp in Southern California. I am hoping to return home in a few years and after some great experience. If you are not committed to stay in so cal, I suggest you move and start over. I was explained by a nurse recruiter from Riverside that there are 7000 new grads and only 3000 had jobs. This is not to discourage you but I would keep my options open. I know many who graduated with me who are still out of work and its been 9 months since we had graduated. Take any opportunity and try to get in the door for your acute care experience. Good luck in your search. i hope this info helps. If you have other questions, let me know....

K Campos, Thank you very much for your info. This is was I suspected when I was trying to get a new grad position here in SD. OMG how hard it is to get even a job interview. Anyways, I had to take a job as a PHN here in SD. I didn't try to get a job out of So Cal, for several reasons I can't move out of town, although I would like to do that just to get the experience that I need. My plans now are either to get the BSN or to enter in a MSN entry level. I have a BS and I would like to pursue with my career. I had different expectancies when I graduated form the nursing school and now with this scenario I am very disapointed with myself, I try to encourage myself and think "At least I have a job". I wish you the best, enjoy your time in Baltimore.
