Accelerated Courses in the SoCal Area

Published

Hi, everyone! ::Waves::I just joined the forum because it looks like there is a lot of great information on here! I've been out of school for a while and I'd like to take accelerated courses so I can change careers and become a nurse. I looked for an accelerated program in the SoCal area and I found ISP Integrated Science Program at SCUHS but the courses are way too expensive! I can afford to take like 1 or maybe 2. I'm even willing to take unaccredited courses since they can help me prepare for the teas or let me than get credit by taking a ap or clep exam. Does anyone know of any cheaper accelerated courses like chem, bio, micro, a&p, psych that you don't have to wait forever to get in to?? Thanks for any help!! :sarcastic:;)

Hey,

I used flashcards for the first time in my life that semester, LOL. They were fast, easy, and I could take them with me anywhere.

My professors were great and gave us a good idea of what to focus on.

My advice is to just keep your notes or whatever study material you use on you and look over it whenever you have down time (waiting in line, during commercials, or on your lunch breaks). Repetition is better than on giant cram session. Good luck, you'll do great!

Thank you for the tip! :)

I don't suggest doing 5 week science classes. I am in 8 weeks and they are hard enough. With a family you will be overwhelmed.

Also Community colleges have night classes during the fall and summer for science classes. I take mine at night. Look at your local College and check their schedule. Don't try to do quick courses on those because there is so much information to learn. Taking shorter classes for sciences is hard for busy people who work or have children on a daily basis.
