What's up Guys
I'm in the military and plan to do 30 years. I'm currently enrolled in a MBA/MSHS program. A lot of people say that I should pursue my nursing degree(Which is an ADN) online through exceslior, but I really love the class room instruction and feel that I learn better that way. I talked with a nursing school recruiter at UTMB in Galveston, TX that offers the accelerated BSN program and she said that I have compelted 40/60 pre-reqs for that program.I just dont feel comfortable in doing the EC ADN program, and dont have the time to dedicate to this program. My goal is to get my BSN degree along with my MBA/MSHS degree. UTMB has a great nursing program, and when I retire I plan to move back to Texas and hopefully start their program. I know people have had success with doing the ADN online program through EC, but I dont see this working for me. I want to learn the material and have interactions with professors. I see a lot of people who have had long careers going into the accelerated BSN program. Any thoughts? Thanks God bless Dexter

Hi, I have a question for you? Which branch of the military are you in? I plan to start an ABSN program here in Jan. 09. The program is 13 months long. The catch is, it's fully paid for by a local hospital and after completing the program I have to sign a 3 year contract. After my contract, I plan to either go into the Air Force, or do travel nursing. I've never heard of the Exceslior program so I couldn't help you there but I'm not sure whether you're going to have enough time to get your MBA, and be in the accelerated program at the same time. Now I know that some schools offer an accelerated MSN/MBA program. Maybe that's something you could look into. Good Luck and God Bless!!!
Congrats, and good luck!

Forive a girl butting in here, but you've pretty much answered your own question.
I am almost done with my Excelsior ASN, but I LOVE learning on my own and detest sitting in classes. It works very well for me. But you already KNOW that this is NOT how YOU learn, so fuhgeddaboudid and go traditional.

Motivated One - I just moved from NC. What hospital is doing this? It sounds like a great program!
