Hi everyone, I'm going to be graduating this semester with my bachelors in Biology and I plan to apply to the Accelerated BSN program at Texas a&m Corpus Christi. I really hope I get in, but my gpa is pretty low. My overall is a 3.3 and my pre requisite gpa is a 3.4. I do, however, have CNA experience in home health, telemetry, and the NICU. I also have lots of health care volunteer hours.
Does anyone know any inside details about the accelerated nursing program like how many students get accepted, how competitive it is or what you think my chances are? have any of you been accepted and can give me some advice?
The accelerated program isn't requiring the HESI anymore so I can't really make up for my gpa by getting a high HESI score so I'm a little sad about that. I really want to get accepted and I'm going to pour my heart into the personal statement but i feel like so many programs only accept students with stellar stats..

I’m on the same boat! I’m from Brownsville, so it would be a big move for me too. Did you fill out a FAFSA application? If so, do you know how it would work to apply for this summer? I’m planning on taking out loans but I’m not sure how to request summer loans.. I submitted a FAFSA app for the 2019-2020 school year

I did fill out a fafsa but they usually just award you for the summer if you are qualified for any grants and then the rest are basically loans ?
