Accelerated BSN TAMUCC summer 2019

Published

Hi everyone, I'm going to be graduating this semester with my bachelors in Biology and I plan to apply to the Accelerated BSN program at Texas a&m Corpus Christi. I really hope I get in, but my gpa is pretty low. My overall is a 3.3 and my pre requisite gpa is a 3.4. I do, however, have CNA experience in home health, telemetry, and the NICU. I also have lots of health care volunteer hours.

Does anyone know any inside details about the accelerated nursing program like how many students get accepted, how competitive it is or what you think my chances are? have any of you been accepted and can give me some advice?

The accelerated program isn't requiring the HESI anymore so I can't really make up for my gpa by getting a high HESI score so I'm a little sad about that. I really want to get accepted and I'm going to pour my heart into the personal statement but i feel like so many programs only accept students with stellar stats.. :(

I definitely recommend applying if you have interest in the program. The staff look at each individual profile and you have an interview. You never know what the application pool looks like so you shouldn’t not apply because you could get denied, because you could also get accepted, but you loose that if you don’t apply.

Hey guys! I was recently accepted into the accelerated nursing school program at TAMUCC and was wondering if anyone would be willing to talk to me about their experience/what to expect? I have a lot of friends who have done the traditional track but I feel like I’m going into this blind right now. ??
