Accelerated BSN program NYU Fall 2011

Published

Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!

I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.

I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.

Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

hi jdubbs99,

thanks for the note of encouragement! good luck too!

oh my gosh! I am so excited. I just added onto the facebook page. by the way, my name is Jenny Song. Anyone from so cal?

Jsong. Im from San Diego. Ill add you on fb.

i'm also holding off on joining the fb group for a little bit, but is anyone from the bay area? (:

I live in San Diego but am from the Bay area!! What part are you from?

How weird. Jsong. Do you go to sdsu? Theres a Jenny song going to sdsu and shes friends with one of my friends? How weird would that be if that was you!

im from the peninsula (near SFO), but i was in SD for undergrad. were you?

I accepted the new people to the facebook group :) How does it look?

Niffy so weird!! Im originally from Antioch but my mom lives in South San Francisco. Im in SD for my undergrad! Graduating in May. I wonder if we know each other... LoL

Congrats to everyone! I had a much better day at work today since I got this good news. :)

Thanks for setting up the Facebook group, Sarah.

Someone asked about stats - I have a B.S. in Journalism with an undergraduate GPA of 3.7; I've had A's in my prerequisites so far with Nutrition being the last that I'm currently taking.

I've been in NYC since last summer - specifically in Queens in Forest Hills - so if anyone has any questions about this side of the city I am happy to answer anything I can.

I would agree that places like Jersey City or Hoboken can be a much easier commute that even from where I am (though commuting from here is not so bad).

so i looked up campus housing....lowest cost for a single room is 7,823 per semester times 4 semesters=31,292. thats equal to 2086 a month. Can find apartments together for wayyyyy cheaper.

eek! thats crazy, I would be interested too in living with people from the program.

Also I heard from someone in Financial Aid, she said it will take the office 3-4 weeks after acceptance to process the information. Also I don't know if any of you were planning on applying for the Hillman Scholarship for the program, but she also informed me that they won't be offering it this year :(
