Accelerated BSN program NYU Fall 2011

Published

Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!

I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.

I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.

Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

Mine's been like that for over a month, so sadly, I don't think it's an indication of our acceptance, although, I have no doubt that we're getting in! Hang in there!

A month?! AW! Maybe they just knew for sure about you. Who knows?

I guess the waiting game continues...

Hey Jdubs,

Did you apply before the priority deadline? And do you know if regular applicants are supposed to receive acceptance letters around the same time as accelerated since both had a March 1st deadline. I also applied for regular decision and was just wondering about that.

Hey!

New to this but have been reading all the posts since the thread was started. Don't have much time but just wanted to say financial aid isn't an indication of acceprance. It just means the school has received your fafsa informatio :( Good luck!!

Is everyone here applying for accelerated program or traditional?

Today may be the day :)

Haha, I say that every day!! So glad I found this site. Can't stop checking to see if you guys hear back. I called last week and the girl who answered in nursing dept said def April...it won't take til June like it says it can:)

Hey Jdubs,

Hey!

I applied just shy of the April 1st deadline for second degree students for the regular admissions deadline. When I sent in my application, I had some brief email correspondence with Lindsay Sutton, who I've heard is "the" person to contact- and she told me late April-early June. However, it sounds like we may be hearing earlier than that, based on what everyone else here is saying. I am hoping that is the case!!

I was hoping to hear today/this week so I called. Although every counselor I talked to before told me that Albert was not updated and not to worry that none of my boxes were checked off, today the counselor actually looked up my file and said that they hadn't processed my transcripts fully and that one hadn't been even found in all the mail they're still processing. :/ She assured me that the timing of your application wouldn't affect the chance of getting in. But it looks like whether you hear very soon will depend on whether they found all your materials and processed them yet. But I hope it's really soon...

I am in the same boat as you. I was contacted over a month ago that they had lost a part of my transcript, so I had 2 additional sets sent over night. I just called admissions and they STILL haven't matched them with my application and this was over a month ago. I am becoming very nervous, but of course they keep saying it won't affect my application at all. I am still worried though because half of those missing transcripts have my grades for my classes, so I am not sure how missing transcripts wouldn't affect my application decision. Very frustrating and nerve-wracking, but hopefully this will all be worth it in the end!! :)

Hey everyone,

I am assuming that we will hear at the end of this week at the earliest. I know they are still organizing applications and such.

Niffy & KKandes,

I'm sure they will find your transcripts, so don't worry. I can't imagine how much mail they have. I know for a fact they can't let you know once they receive the transcripts, but if you email and ask every so often, eventually they will say that you application is complete. I know because I did this...haha. Just don't bombard them everyday with emails asking if they received them yet. Let me know how it goes :)

Just another update for regular admissions applicants... I feel like I may have been one of the last people to get their application in, and I finally got an offiicial letter from NYU saying that they have my application. Looks like they are just now getting to organizing regular decision applications, so we probably have a while left. Maybe this means too that priority applicans are being read! Just thought some people would want to know.

I got the official NYU email confirmation of my app today also, the date of my app says 3/28 but it was submitted around 3/15 in reality, transcripts would have arrived by 3/17 at the latest. They finally let me get to know ALBERT and he says nothing is checked off on my list, it says they need high school transcript, test scores and a transcript for a university I attended for one year only. I have a BA already so I thought I didn't need to submit my high school transcript, this is such a hassle for me as my high school is overseas in Europe and I hope my degree transcript was received and matched to my app because that's also from Europe and I only have one copy, even though I ordered two! Hence it will take weeks for me to follow through if anything's missing. I'm a transfer student who opted for the traditional route for a couple of semesters in order to complete the science pre reqs...I doubt I'll hear anything for 4 weeks at least. I assume you accelerated applicants did not submit high school transcripts or 'test scores'?
