academic workload? Is CNA class plus 2 classes over the summer too much?

I am an aspiring nurse... I wanted some advice about academic workload.

I am thinking about taking a CNA class to gain employment by the fall. The class I would take would be 21 days long. (I am currently unemployed but am in the care of family) I would love to start to gain experience in my new career path..

however, I am also want to take nursing pre requisite coursework this summer as well. Ihave a previous bachelors degree in a social science. I was thinking of taking chemistry and psychology (I took chemistry in college but by the time I apply, my class will not be in the 5 year time frame.. I also took AP psychology in high school, got a 5, and am told by nursing programs I need to take psychology for a grade) These courses are over a period of 10 weeks and if I did the cna course, it would finish halfway into the semester.

is taking 2 classes and a condensed cna class too much? Alternatively I guess I could focus on just the cna class, gain employment, and start taking courses while working FT or PT in the fall.. I live in NYC if this changes anything. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

I think it's probably doable since you're not currently employed. I worked full time and did my CNA class at night in approximately the same time frame. With work and needing to sleep I couldn't have handled other classes but you won't have work.

One summer, I took my CNA course, two college courses and worked part time at a hospital. It is definitely doable, especially if you're not working.
