Im currently earning my Bachelors degree in a non nursing major. I really would like to get into a absn+msn program, but if I don't get accepted into any programs, should I apply to ABSN programs and then when I finish apply to MSN programs ? Will it take much longer than a absn+msn program ??? I want to specialize in midwifery .

I may be wrong but don't you need experience as an RN before applying to CNM programs?

Start with the ABSN and go from there. Most of the continuing programs that have the ABSN give you time to decide. Plus; you might change your mind on specialty. I would have never thought I would end up in oncology, but I ended up having a true calling. You sell yourself short if you don't allow yourself to explore.
Does it matter where I receive my BSN? Is everything pretty standard , there's no specialization right ?

There's no specialization and I would recommend working first before deciding. There are so many options, some that you may not even be aware of yet. I did a 2nd degree BSN program and I had a friend who was sure she was going to be applying to a specific school after it for CNM and she has totally changed her mind.

Get your BSN. You should be able to cut-down the time spent in it, since you probably will have already taken some required classes. That's what I did. If I hadn't padded my schedule with for-fun classes, I could have finished my BSN in 2 years.
You'll probably be surprised how your interests change during school. I thought I wanted to be an OB nurse, but actually hated it during school and decided it definitely wasn't for me. That might happen for you as well.
Then, get some experience. I believe CNM schools will require it. Getting your masters in nurse midwifery requires a special advanced practice degree. Research schools to see which ones offer that degree. Many schools don't offer it. You have lots of time!
