About to take the TEAS Exam????????

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello........I've been away for awhile, but glad to be back! I received my letter to take the TEAS Test (Test of Essential Academic Skills). Has anyone taken this exam? I'm wondering how much this test counts for when deciding who will be in the next nursing class? I purchased a study guide, but am curious if the test will be set up the same way. Any help would be greatly appreciated .........thank you

Does anyone know how or where I can take the TEAS exam? The school I'm applying to is in Tennessee but I live in Massachusetts. Thanks in advance!

You probably already have your answer. You can take it anywhere it is offered and then go online and send the scores which ever schools you like.

Can some one helpme with english section. How is the english section is it easy or difficult? what about vocabulary?

I don't remember that section but I scored 92.7% and the 99th percentile in the English section.

I highly suggest to buy the study guide out out by ATI and also purchase the online practice exams as they are identical to the real thing.

how soon do you get your teas scores back?

I got my scores back the same day. I think it depends on the facility.

:):)hey guys i am taking my Teas in January.. and i have never taken it before. I am preparing myself with the Teas study guides. Also is there any tutoring centers for the Teas preparation(indianapolis, IN)? I am doing pretty well with the study guide but i am still a bit concerned since it is very important to do well on Teas to be accepted in the Nursing Program. How often you reckon i should try studying the Teas prep book, is once enough or few times is good?

Thanks!

Hi there.

I just took my TEAS V exam on Tuesday, September 21, 2010. It was not bad at all. The questions were all fairly reasonable especially math and science. My recommendation is to purchase the review book if and only if you have not seen the required study material for a long time - it is an excellent refresh. I skimmed through the review book but I did not find it very helpful although it did help boost confidence because as you go over each topic you can assess how much you know about it. So perhaps in that respect it is also good.

Just focus on balancing equations, be really good with algebra and especially get human anatomy down as these are easy questions especially to gain those extra points on.

The test is still pretty fresh in my mind so if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask me - don't be shy!

hey Miggs! Thanks for the info. I got one more question, I had purchased the Teas ATI pretest study manual 3.0, is this the one you were referring to as the review book? or the newer version? Thanks!

Hey Shazia,

You know, I looked all over that book for 3.0 or something higher and I could not find it. It is definitely a study manual for TEAS V and it has 2010 on the back of it - the most updated version.

Here is a link of the book I have - does this help at all?

Study Manual for the Test of Essential Academic Skills, Version V, ~, Assessment Technologies Institute, Book - Barnes & Noble

Let me know.

:coollook: Hey everyone!

I'm getting really nervous! I take the TEAS exam tomorrow morning ....For those of you who passed...CONGRATS!! I'm hoping the questions will be very similar to the ones in the study guide book....

How'd you do on the test!? I take version 4 in less than two weeks and I'm so nervous! Any Advice??
