AANP testing in August

Published

Anyone taking the AANP test soon? I take it next week and I'm super nervous! I took it once a few months ago but was not prepared. I studied Hollier, Fitzgerald, Leik and dunphy winland brown. I did a couple practice exams and I'm scoring in the 70s. I really changed my pace and studied hard core for the last 8 weeks on top of what I already knew prior to taking the first exam. Anyone with last minute tips, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you! My biggest battles are calming my nerves and staying focused these last few days.

I took my AANP boards yesterday and PASSED!!!!! Now I'm MSN, APRN, FNP-C!!!! YAY!!!

What were you scoring on the practice exams?

I only took the AANP practice test once and scored a 77% them I scored an 89% the second time. I put all study materials down one week prior to the exam and went and got a full body massage the day of the exam. I passed although the practice test didn't hold a candle to the actual AANP exam it was helpful. Good luck!

did you feel the apea review was similar to the aanp exam

I took the AGNP exam with AANP two days ago and Passed it too. I was not sure at all how I was doing and was shocked that I had passed. What can I call myself now since none of the paperwork etc that will take place has been done like getting the letter from AANP with my actual score and license etc. I am so glad that is done, but what is my professional status now?

Just took the AANPCP FNP test and passed. Like literally just took the test and first let me start with how I studied. I literally broke up each system and studied one system daily (its common diseases, medications, diagnosis, assessment techniques and latest guidelines) and then would take practice tests approx 50-100 questions daily. I would take one day off to unwind. I literally did this for 2 months. I also took the Fitzgerald course 3 day live course. What can I say about the test... Well for starters I was sick to my stomach when I started. Like stomach growling, coughing attack and everything. Then I finally calmed down and started focusing on the task. Hardest questions were at the beginning. I did not get any pictures or pick all that apply. I have to say there were a few safety, research questions, etc... The rest of the test was assessment and diagnosis. Know your updated guidelines and comment systems. Know ASTHMA, COPD, Hyperlipidemia, Heart disease including murmurs very well. As for muscular system I had a few questions mainly involved the knee, the back and pain. Know the Tanner stages well for both Female and males...... Had two depression questions one involved meds. If you study the systems and do tons of practice questions you will PASS. Some questions were so embedded in my head I didnt even need to read into it because I knew the answer. Im sure if you study hard you will pass. Everyone good luck!
