AANP, FNP 2016 Exam

Updated:   Published

I have appreciated all previous posts on this matter ,and just wanted to reach out and ask if anyone has taken the 2016 version (or other other recent versions) of the AANP FNP exam (as most of the other posts are a bit outdated). I am looking for any type of advice on this exam (regarding prep work, or even day of/week of advice. I am currently scheduled to take the exam at the end of this month (in two weeks).

As for prep work thus part I have purchased and completed the Fitzgerald Review, Read Leik's most recent book and done the corresponding questions in the back of the book, and have taken the AANP FNP practice exam on their website, only scoring a 72% (66% is passing on this exam). This of course made me a little more anxious than I already was. After taking the practice exam, I've realized my weak areas and plan to spend some time on those in the next two weeks.

Any other words of advice on this matter, are definitely welcome! Thank you in advance!!

Hello everyone, I also used APEA Q bank and the PSI practice test for AANP. I passed back in Feb of this year. However, I used Fitzgerald which was nice for knowledge but too detailed for exam-prepping. I think Maria Codina Leik FNP certification intensive review was most helpful to me. I would say though you can't just used one book. Using different review books really helped me.

I see on the AANP FNP practice exam it allows only 90 minutes. Is that for the exam itself? I am wondering if it allows extra time to review the rationales of any incorrect ones. Thanks in advance!

Hi, thank you so much for your tips. I'm preparing for my exam as well, can I have the pictures and images you mentioned, which you used to study for the aanp? thank you so much! my email is [email protected]

A-NP-2-B-2016 would you be able to e-mail some of the pictures you made? I will graduate in May 2018 and am starting to seriously start the review process. my e-mail is [email protected]. I will be taking the Hollier review course live in March.

Also, do you have access to send MP3s?

I realize it is a bit of a delayed response, however, I did pass my first go and then proceeded to work 1 yr in Cardiology (which was a blast) prior to recently moving to the UK (for my husbands job). Now to figure out how to transfer my licensure over here ...Thank you all for your words of encouragement and advice.

Ranking my study materials from most helpful to least:

1). Fitzgerald Review - Worth every penny. Got the MP3 version so I could play/replay the review on the go. Highly Recommend.

2). Leik - Very helpful. I felt a lot of the questions I was tested on were directly reflected in the book.

3). APEA Q Bank - Good to get into the mindset of the proper test format, yet least helpful in regards to review of test content.

Once again, thank you to everyone for your encouragement and best of luck with your endeavors!! I know you can do it!!! :)
