I know Ive seen some mentioned before...can anyone give me the names of any AA/NA meeting alternatives. Particularly ones that have been accepted by nursing boards in the past.

Hi! It depends on your state's board, but CA (cocaine anonymous), HA (heroin anonymous), GA (gamblers anonymous), CODA (codependents) are a few that might benefit you.
Yes, I forgot about codependent anon.
and I think emotions anon......

My state accepts Celebrate Recovery (which is the 12 steps with more Jesus) and Buddhist 12 Steps (which uses the humanist 12 steps as its guide.)
I have personally found the problem with completely non-12 step programs like SMART is that there often aren't enough in-person meetings to meet the minimum meeting requirement.

I don't know what state you are in but in addition to AA I also attend DAA (drug addicts anonymous) and it's a wonderful group. The website is http://www.daausa.org
I am in Texas by the way, Dallas area. Texas also accepts Celebrate recovery.
