A+P online coures?

Where can I take Anatomy and physiology online?I am looking for a school who's credits transfer.Hopefully there is a school out there who has a class starting soon......My search button is acting up..sorry.

I just signed up for API and APII at Barton Community College Online. The classes are 4 credits with lab (done with ADAM computer program). Tests are online as well - not proctored.

Checked with my local school and they will accept - transcript does not say anything about being online. $125 per credit hour.

They have 3 different start times this fall:

Aug 18 - Oct 19 (8 weeks) Fall I

Aug 23 - Dec 21 (15 weeks) Fall II

Oct 20 - Dec 21 (8 weeks) Fall III

I am doing Fall I and Fall III to get both A&P I & II out of the way to take Microbiology at my local school in the spring.

Hope this helps

How was A&P??? i need to take 1 and 2 and i might go to BCC as well. any info is appreciated. Thanks

How is the Microbiology course through Rio Salado? I am debating if I want to go through them or just do Excelsior's test.

Micro at Rio Salado isnt too bad.

Well I am four weeks into the condensed A&P I course (8weeks). Going very well. Each week we have the following work to complete:

Read one or two chapters in text

Answer review multiple choice questions for each chapter

Fill in one section of lab book w/ ADAM anatomy program

Answer one discussion question and respond to two others in class

Take weekly exam (only on text not lab) 10 questions

So far it has been much nicer than going to class. You can work ahead if you want. Little time consuming having to type out homework and lab to submit to teacher.

I have an "A" so far. I am taking A&PII in Oct - Dec. Nice thing is that you use the same text book and lab book - so no extra cost there and you can go work ahead on the lab for the second class.

If you do not have any background in A&P then I would do the 15 week class or if you don't have at least three - four hours a week to put completely to the class.

Also all the tests are online - no proctored tests

Hope this helps.

Dani 8962 - sorry which college are you taking your A&P I at? Do you think you will have any problems getting the class accepted since it was online? How much time are you spending per week on the class? Thanks!

Taking API & II (4 credits each) at Barton community college in Kansas - Bartonline.org. I checked with the school - they do not put on the transcripts that they are online courses. Also checked with my local school that they were accredited and would accept classes from them. Now I told my local school that I was spending a semester at my grandparents and was taking classes while I was out there (little white lie). So I am taking all courses this sememster on line through them. They also charge $125 per credit no matter where you live.

You can do the 8 week condensed course - spending 3-4 hours a week (lab, homework, discussion and test prep)

If you do the 15 week I am sure it would be less time.

Hope this helps

I'm considering the online U of New England Physio class... it sounds amazing. Does anyone know about this one?

I am taking A&P 1 this semester online through ccconline. I took Eng 121 and Bio 106 last semester and got the transcripts to see what they look like, they show as a regular class, not online. The transcripts come from the 'Home College' you choose, not from ccconline itself. The AP class is 4 credits with a lab, you will have to buy the lab kit yourself. My class starts on Monday the 19th, but there is a 2nd session, which will be shorter and it begins on Feb 23, lots of time to get everything you need before then. BTW, exams are done online.

tashaLPN2006 - ccconline has an online 4 credit microbiology course with a lab as well.

Wow, thanks! I see it says reg is closed except in special instances for Spring I, but I will definitely check that out. I'm wondering whether the additional cost of the books and lab kit costs more than $200? Just curious as to whether the whole thing would be over $1000..

My A&P I setup was expensive. :(

183.00 for textbook (req)

50.00 coloring book (req)

30.00 Chem for Bio students book (req)

230.00 lab kit

163.00 600x microscope w/oil lense

I decided not to get the lab manual which was optional at 112.00! I was able to find the books cheaper so these are the bookstore prices.

I had a microscope but it was only a 400x and no oil lens. So I bought the new one. They also had USB cameras for the microscope on sale (~30) so I picked one of those up - will hopefully look good on a lab report, lol. I am going to need the Microscope for Microbiology if I remember right, as well. Expensive, but I can use it again, and so will my daughter when she takes these classes.

Luckily(!!!), all I will need to buy for AP II is a lab kit for 230.00

I love the labs, but darned if their not expensive to set up.

I saw someone post on here about Cayuga Community College online A&P, I see they also offer Microbiology. Has anyone taken either of these courses?? How were they and do you know about transferring the credits to EC??

Thanks,

Emily

Emily-I have been trying to get into Cayuga's classes, but they are full for Spring! They are definately accredited they are part of State University of New York (SUNY) system. I currently go to a SUNY community college here in New York now :) They are tough online classes though! I find they are much harder and time consuming than actually going to the class in person.

So I signed up for Barton's A & P I and II online. I am taking A&P I this Spring which starts the 26th (if I get my payment there on time :( and taking A & P II this summer. I am VERY excited. All materials will cost over $200, but I believe it can be used for both classes so thats good.

Good Luck!

If anyone is taking this class PM me, so we can be study buddies :)

Thanks, I just looked into Bartons. I think if I don't pass EC's A&P test this week I may do the same spring and summer classes if I can get in. I am just going to call EC first to make sure the credit will transfer.

Where are you planning on getting your RN afterward, EC or a traditional school?? I am also in NY, Long Island.
