A&P 2

Published

Hey guys, I am currently attending a community college and am completing anatomy and physiology 1 right now. I'm trying to figure out whether it would be better for me to take A&P 2 in the summer or the fall of this year. I have listed below pros/cons of each and my thoughts on each. I wanted to see if any of you who have taken A&P 2 in the faster-paced summer semester, have any feedback. Even if you have not taken it in the summer and just have advice, I'll take that too! :)

A&P 2 in the Summer:

-Shorter time frame (fall & spring semesters are 16 weeks long, summer is condensed into 8 weeks), and with working full-time..this could be difficult (but i am taking A&P 1 and sociology while working FT right now and am doing well)

-20 students in the class, as opposed to 40-50 in the fall

-same students as in A&P 1 now...which personally, i think would be better

-won't have time to make extra time in the summer or take that time for myself (if i dont enroll in A&P 2 in the summer, i will take psychology)

-could potentially get done sooner, which means getting accepted into the ADN program sooner

A&P 2 in Fall:

-40-50 kids in each class, dislike this A LOT

-longer time frame (16 weeks now as opposed to 8 short weeks in summer)

-won't get to be with the same kids as in A&P 1 (most of them are taking A&P2 in summer)

-could *possibly take a little longer to get accepted into program, or at least finish gen ed. classes*

-taking A&P 2 in fall, summer would be a breeze and would be able to make more money and have time for myself and vacations

So my reasons may be silly, or small...but here they are. Let me know what you guys think/advice you wanna give. Thanks!! :) :)

I took a 10 wk A&P 2 class last summer and I did good in it I got a B. Yes the time frame is shorter than the Spring and Fall classes. I say go for it because the info/knowlege that you learned in A&P 1 will still be fresh in your mind, and besides that's one hard class out of the way. Good luck!

A&P II is easier than A&P I (in my opinion).. I would take it in the summer, just get it over with. If it is going to be your only course for that session of the summer, definitely take it then.
