A&P summer classes???

Published

]I am thinking about taking my A&P classes during this summer semester. I have a two year old son, and I will be moving 2 &1/2 hours away from where I live now. I'm trying to decide whether I need to wait until the fall semester with so much going on, and would it be easier to get the full semester of A&P with the labs. I will also be working part time. Please advise!

Can you take it online? I'm taking A&P 1 online with http://www.edukan.org this summer. I have two boys playing baseball, an active 3 year old and a newborn daughter, so the online class is what works for me and my family.

I thought about taking it online, but I wasn't sure about the labs that go with A&P. Can you take those online as well?

Yes, the labs are virtual as well. My community college accepts it for their nursing program. Your transcript will say the community college you pick as your home college, not Edukan. You still get 4 credits for the course as well.

]Do you ever have to go to the classroom for anything like taking a test or something? I'm asking because I don't know exactly when I'm moving this summer, and I am still working full time right now. Once I move I will only be working part time.

Specializes in Operating Room.

Just make sure your choice(s) of nursing program(s) will take the credit from the online A&P.

If so....I'd do it that way!!! :balloons:

....That is IF you have the self-discipline you need for an online class. If not, get it!

Good luck to you!

No, all exams are online as well. They are timed, though, so they make sure you don't have time to look up the answers in the book:) Your transcript also will not say you took it via distance education. It will just say A&P 1 w/ lab worth 4 credits and your grade. I took Intro to Chemistry with lab this way with http://www.ccconline.org and it transfered fine to my local cc. I stopped taking classes with them because they cost more $ than edukan. However, they do have a nice pharmacology calculations course online for 1 credit if that interests you.

Thank you guys so much for this input & very much needed information. This helps me out a lot, and will make my life a little easier during the move along with everything else.

I dont know about taking A&P online because alot of people gave me advise on here that it was a pretty tough class that was better suited to a real class room especially with lab. But maybe it will be ok how would you do the lab though. WOuld u have to go to the lab part every once in a while

Hey, neighbor (I'm in New Castle).

Online A&P is tough, but if you are self-disciplined, you will be ok. The summer semesters are probably the hardest because they are shorter in length. I think if it is the only class you are taking during the summer AND you have enough time to put into it, you will do fine.

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

I didn't know about that website for taking accredited classes. I wish I had known about that sooner :)

I'm going to take A&P II this summer. I don't think it will be easy, but I'm not taking anything else so I can focus on it.

I think it will be hard, but you can do it! Good luck!
