Hi everyone,
This fall semester I will be taking anatomy w/ the lab and physiology w/ the lab (A & P are separate courses at my school). I'm taking these courses as pre reqs for the ABSN program. I have one more week of a general bio and lab course I've been taking during the summer. It's looking like I'm going to get an A in the lecture and lab. However, I'm feeling a bit nervous about taking A & P. I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone has on study methods for A & P :) also, does anyone know of any good apps for A & P? :)
I'm taking a&p this fall as well. My class is only once a week so I know I'm going to get a lot of material at once. I already started reading my text book and making flash cards. Everyone I've spoken with has suggested I read the material before lecture so that its not all new material when you get to class.I have to take a&p 1 and 2, and human growth as my last courses to get into an accelerated BSN program and get at least a b+/a- in all three to maintain a competitive gpa so I'm planning on utilizing whatever tips I can find!
I know how you feel lol. My anatomy course only meets once a week (on Saturdays :/ ). I will definitely be reading the material before lecture as well. For the flash cards are you just putting the structures and their function?

Thank you very much! This post was extremely helpful as well as your other post :)
Thank you all for the advice, it's greatly appreciated. I've already purchased a voice recorder to record lectures as well as a supplemental book, Barron's E-Z Anatomy and Physiology (bought on amazon). I will probably buy some A & P flashcards also. @megkat, I will definitely look into watching that video series on Youtube. @patiently_waiting which flashcards did you purchase if you don't mind me asking? Good luck to all of us taking A & P this fall! :)
I purchased the Barron's Anatomy Flashcards, which can be found on Amazon for half the price I purchased them for. I purchased Barron's E-Z Anatomy and Physiology book also.
take pictures of the models in class.
We aren't allowed to do this at my school. Our phones have to be turned off, logged by a lab assistant that it is in fact OFF completely, and then stored in a room outside of the lab. I'm a very visual learner so this might put me at a bit of a disadvantage. I might just bring my tent and camp outside the open lab for the next 4 months so I can spend all my free time in the open lab with the models.
Lots of you tube videos flash cards and take pictures of the models in class. Also get astudy group together pretty quick and set up dates to meet every week. Repetition is key. There is tons of information to remember but keep on it and you'll do great! Good luck![/quote']At our school they definitely allow us to take pictures :) and yes, studying with a group is great! Thankfully, a friend of mine is taking physiology with me. Thanks for the words of encouragement :)
