Anyone else taking it this fall? I start tomorrow! We are beginning with the endocrine system. After taking A&P I over the summer, the syllabus for the fall term looks leisurely! :chuckle

I too started A&PII on Sept. 25th. Our first Lab pract is this Thursday, Endo through Cardiovascular (Ch 17-20). Our first Lecture exam is Monday, same material. Good luck everyone :wink2:

We had our first practical today. It was way more stressful compared to the A&P I practicals because there are basic roadmaps for arteries, not all cats are the same. I did really well on all my other practicals, I hope I did as well on this one.

Hey all,
Welp, got the results on my first exam. I'm really upset about my grade. I thought I did better than what I received, 81%. I'll find out tomorrow which questions i got wrong.
Just have to do better the next time. I have my lab practical tomorrow. Good luck to those who have exams this week!!
Got our grades back on our practical. I was so excited because I thought I did horrible and so did two of my other friends, at least compared to A&P I practicals. I got a 103 out of 100. There were a couple bonus questions on there. I honestly did not know how I did. Now for the lecture exam tomorrow. ugh....
Way to go FKA!! Congratulations on your grade!!!
I haven't found out how I did on my lab practical yet...so we'll see. My teacher doesn't put any extra credit questions on the exam and she doesn't curve either...which really sucks. She did post that the class average was a 65%!! That's awfully low.
While talking with a few others from class, there was only one person who got an A and a few B's then it just went down hill from there.
I really don't like getting B's on exams but I have to say that i'm happy i was at least one of them who did well on it.
I'm hoping we'll get our practical back at the next class.
I found out quickly over the summer, that most of the classes that are considered prerequisites typically do not offer "extra credit." Instead, they call it bonus points and they do not tell you about these "bonus points" until the test. None of my college professors have graded on a curve that I can recall. The nice thing about my A&P class is that I am familiar with her style of teaching, as I took her husband over the summer for A&P I.
Allie, I am sure you did well. You did well on the lecture exam. Let us know.

I keep meaning to ask you if your school is using cats? I guess we are the last semester for using cats at our school.

I have a test coming up this Tues 100 POINTS (Endocrine,Blood,Heart and a Lab exam of 50 points). We dont have ANY quizes , just 4 big tests. I have been studying but I feel like dont know anything so I try to take online quizes to see where I am.
Also I used to memorize my way through Principles of Bio and A&P1 Anatomy but Physiology is a hole different story.
Memorizing doesnt work for me , I need to understand what I read.
Any one have any tips o how to ace this class?
Thanks for you help :wink2:
We aren't using the cats this year. They have us using the physioed experiments that are on the computer. It's a little weird having a biology class with online lab activities.
I miss the hands on experiments.

Hiya!
I agree with you regarding the physiology. I've been having a hard time as well. This may sound really lame but what i did with the endocrine and blood section, i wrote out how they are in order....it's a little harder to explain than i though..lol.
Example...
endocrine - hypothalamus - excretes what hormones which involve what?
then goes to the pituitary gland - which excretes what hormones which target what organs to do what?
blood - leukocytes - 5 types....NEB/LM
Neutrophil, Eosinophil, Basophil/lymphocytes, Monocytes
Then make a little saying of what each leukocyte does..etc. There is also a website that i found http://www.histology-world.com/
This site is pretty cool with games and quizzes. It has all the different systems of the body.
Good luck!
I found out my grade for 1st lab pract....75 ugggh......class average was 62. No such luck with extra credit. Congrats to those who did well!!! Have to ace lecture test tomorrow. We are using cats....hard to tell what the heck the teacher was pointing at...my cat looked soooo different from the ones she used...oh well....better grade next time...have a great week all...and happy studying:chuckle
