I still can't post a question. I'd like to know info regarding haad-rn exam requirements? I've spending almost whole day looking for the website regarding requirements for that exam but I was unsuccessful. The only website I found is the pearson vue website but it only tells steps on how to schedule for the exam. I'm thinking whether I need to pass my credentials to the board of nursing of HAAD for their evaluation (just like the NCLEX) then I'll be permitted to schedule for the exam. Or is it enough that I schedule for the exam and that's it? No more fuss unlike the NCLEX?

you don't need to pass any credentials yet if you haven't passed the HAAD. the qualifications are you need to be a Registered Nurse from your country and you have at least 2 years Medical-Surgical experience post registration but be certain that you can present a Certificate of Employment. if you qualify, then register for the HAAD-RN at the PearsonVue now, no need for pre-evaluation from the Board.

Then, right after you have taken the exam at pearsonvue, the result will be given to you and automatically be transmitted to the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi. If you passed, the HAAD will not notify you for your registration process, just visit their official website for your pre-registration credential evaluation.

I hope this helps you.

tnx nezzyrn for the info!:) btw, is there an expiration for the HAAD license? if there is, how long is its validity? because i am a new rn so i don't have yet the 2 year work experience. i only have volunteer experience.would you advise that I take the HAAD exam when i have at least 2 years experience as a staff nurse? tnx again.

as far as i know there is no expiration for the HAAD exam but you cannot register for a permanent license if you don't have 2-yr MS experience and they dont acknowledge a volunteer experience. so, better look for a nursing job first before you take the exam. it would be a lot easier for you to process your license and get an overseas job as well.

tnx nezzyrn for the info!

Miss nezzy:

I would like to know what review materials did you use in preparation for taking the HAAD? I really NEED to pass this exam. This is the great chasm that I need to traverse in order to work in UAE. Thanks a lot. (again)

honestly, i did not review for HAAD since i had my review already for NCLEX.. but i suggest to use the GAPUZ ABC for Passing

Foreign Exam. I find this book helpful although it's not complete still it contains almost all the basic and important thing a nurse has to know about a certain condition, illness, procedures, etc.

focus on basic nursing procedures, aseptic and sterile concepts, therapeutic communication technique, IVF and drug calculation, common drug actions and indication, some MS condition..... HAAD is easier than NLE and NCLEX.

I already took the nclex and thankfully passed last year... I guess i'll just use my review materials for nclex. tnx tnx tnx ms. neezy.

I am from India, and i am planning to take HAAD-RN exams. Is there any advantage in taking exams in Abu Dhabi (on visit visa / family visa - my Husband work there) than in India.

Does it really have to be in MS? What if the experience we had was from other areas e.g. Emergency, ICU, NICU, OR etc.?

Oh, and also occupational health (clinic/company nurse)? Would they count? thanks!
