UWOSH-Accelerated BSN

U.S.A. Wisconsin

Hi everyone! Here I am, just completed my general application to the UWOSH and will be applying into the nursing program, hoping for May 2016 cohort. All I have left to do is my CNA.

I was curious for those of you who have done this amazing program, what is your typical week like, school-work wise? Are you sitting at your computer and books from 8-5 for example? Are there specific times each day that you have to 'meet' for classes or group work? I am curious how it is structured. I have two young boys that I SAH with, but they will be in school next spring, so I'm hoping I'll have a nice quiet house to devote to studying/working. Is it unreasonable to think I could be the mid-day pickup for my son from kindergarten tho? I'm in the process of working out what they're schedules might be like while I'm in school. Luckily, we have my parents near and I *think* they'll be able to be of help too.

So any other SAHM's in the program? How does it work for your schedules? Just curious. I know we'll make it work no matter what, but would like to hear other's insight.

Thanks so much!

No one wants to give some insight into your typical week/schedule? :)

I am also hoping to apply to the May 2016 cohort and am interested in answers to your questions. I am also curious about the campus time. Does anyone know the approximate dates for the three campus residencies for each cohort? I know the months but was hoping to narrow it down to the dates within those months. Thanks!

I start in this October's cohort and I'd love to know as well! Ha. Maybe everyone is too busy studying to answer :(

According to my schedule for the OCTOBER cohort I will have to be on campus for these dates:

9/18-9/20 for orientation

1/3-1/17 for first lab/clinical

9/26-7/10 for capstone

It specifically says the schedule is subject to change. When you get the e-mail saying you've been accepted it comes with an orientation attachment. In this little booklet there is a LOT of information for your cohort. I got a full schedule for class order with dates (subject to change), due dates for reserving a hotel room for the 3 campus stays. So you will have a rough idea of the dates before you give your decision to accept/decline.

And just so you guys knew there are a couple things you have to do before the start. I guess their is a self-study Medical Terminology” book I have to complete prior to orientation and I also have to complete and on-line orientation course. Sounds easy enough though.
