Any Moraine Park Students?

U.S.A. Wisconsin

I got accepted in to the Nursing program for the Spring 2013 start for core courses. I am wondering if there is anyone else out there that will be starting with me? I will be attending the West Bend Campus!

I have a rolling backpack. It is a High Sierra Powerglide I got off of Amazon. I also sometimes use my regular back pack especially for fundamentals since we only need our PowerPoint for notes.

I do recommend getting a good voice recorder. You will want to record lectures. Especially for pharmacology since there is a lot of information and only 2 hrs for class. There is no slowing down in that class.

I actually record all of the lecture for pharmacology and fundamentals.

Thanks for the tips. I've been looking at different rolling backpacks and am not sure which one to get. I've seen some posts about the zuca bags but can't find them in stores. I'm nervous about purchasing something without seeing it first.

I am also thinking about getting a livescribe pen. I've read up on them and they seem really helpful.

We had our orientation today and I was lucky enough to get moring classes for skills and clinicals. Yay!!!

The book store sells some wheeled backpacks.

I was a little discouraged when I first applied to the nursing program at moraine as a pre-core nursing student last month, but after reading all the posts here I have hope that I will eventually make it through the petitioning process. MATC seems to be out of the question and as of fall of this year cardinal stritch will not longer be offering their ADN program, they are working on starting a traditonal BSN progam to start fall of 2014, which will probably be tons of money !!!!

I love the program here at MPTC. I would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you for responding. I take placement test in a few weeks so hopefully I will not have to take lower level classes. Did you have to receive a grade of A or B in anatomy classe in order to petition?

I believe it was a c.

They just changed the a&p requirements, you have to get a B in both classes to petition. Also at orientation yesterday they mentioned that MPTC is working with Cardinal Stritch on a BSN program. So that makes sense that stritch is no longer offering the ADN. Good luck on your placement test!

Thanks Sarah for the information. I was not aware of that.... out of the loop. I did know about the stritch thing. Unfortunately it will not work for me I will have to got to a UW school to get my BSN.

Why will you have to go to uw? They really didn't give us any information other that they are working on a contract. I know I want to get my BSN maybe MSN but I'm not sure what path to take yet. First I have to focus on ADN....

Do you know when the new scrubs we have to purchase will be avaiable? They didn't talk about any supplies except for books yesterday.

Thank you so much ! And good luck to you as well in the program, your hard work will pay off. Thanks also for the info on the A&P requirements. Also do you have to have advanced a&P completed before you can petition or, can you be currently enrolled in that course and have all the other things completed ?

You can be currently enrolled in advanced a and p. To petition.
