I keep hearing about you guys talk about tasks, how many tasks do you have for each class? What do the tasks consist of? 86toronado, what do you have to complete for NVT2? I'm so anxious, I really want to get started. I want to be done by June 2012.

I just passed my first assessment for NVT2! Turned it in last Friday, and got my results late yesterday afternoon (Eastern time). My goal is to turn in one assessment per week, so far I am right on track, will turn in assessment #3 this Friday. I have one interview done for task 2, and three more in the works. Anyone else working on interviews? Any luck getting a nurse researcher?
The webinar on the community board says that you do not necassarily have to use a researcher, you can use someone that uses research. I used a CNS from our ICU that helped develop evidence based order sets. If you really get into a pinch, you can email the course mentor and they will send you an interview to use.
The webinars on the community page are very useful. THey outline exactly what they want in your paper. There is one webinar for each task in NVT2.

Hey everyone!! I'm so glad I happened to come across this thread....I too started RN to BSN Oct 1. In addition to taking the 8 nursing courses, I am having to suffer thru Nutrition, Behavioral, and BioChem. I have just started on Nutrition....and have seen that some of you are currently taking it as well!! I am feeling very overwhelmed since there is no pre assessment and I'm not sure where I stand with the course. I have been working thru the daunting little "assignments" on the COS, but think they may be a waste of time and that I should maybe just concentrate on the chapters and chapter reviews. ANy advice?? Anyone taken the objective exam and have any suggestions on how to focus your time??. Glad I'm not alone out there!! ANd the FB group is a great idea?? Has it been started?? I wouldn't mind getting it up and running if it has not...

Also, how is biochem?? I am scared to death to take it!!

I used the provided interviews and that worked well for me. I also put an ad on craigslist looking for folks to interview and got a few responses.
I can't seem to find the link to the FB group, does anyone mind posting the link??

Hey! Just wanted to touch base and see how everyone who started 10/01/11 was doing?I started this month... have finished EWB and am in GNT1 (Contemporary Nursing Issues) - submitted my first task on Sunday and waiting impatiently for a grade. I take Literature, Arts & the Humanities next (the only prereq I needed), and then resume nursing stuff until I graduate. How is it going for you all?One question about tasks... for those with RN work experience, how many sources have you used for your tasks? I'm a little nervous about this one because I literally used ONE source, to reference pain scales for patients who have cognitive impairments. The case study for the task was about an ER patient who came in with decreased LOC and respiratory distress. Being that I work in the ER, I wrote my essay/answers pretty much entirely based on how I would assess/treat this patient on a typical day. I didn't need to look anything up for a reference, and so I didn't use any other sources. I'm a little concerned that they are going to bounce the paper back to me and tell me that I need to have sources for all the information I provided. We'll see!

I know what you are saying...I feel the same way, especially with the GNT tasks. I do try to put 1or 2 references in though because I am afraid to turn a paper in without any.
We're not allowed to post links..... the Great Leader doesn't like them here.
Go to Facebook and lookup "WGU RN TO BSN DISCUSSION GROUP" and you should be able to find us!
