Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone else is starting this program Oct 1st....? maybe we could start a support system of sorts....I am excited to finally get on the road to finishing this degree:nurse:!

Specializes in Med Surg, Nursing Education.

I am getting ready to officially sign up, hopefully for November 1st. Is this a respected way to get my BSN? Will employers scoff at a degree from this college? And is it fully accredited in all the ways that matter? ( I have never understood the whole accreditation thing, I guess it is possible to take classes that don't actually count?)

I am also very interested in a Facebook page for this, has it been started?

Thank you!

Specializes in Tele, ER, PreOp, PACU.
Am preparing to submit the first task in NVT2 tomorrow. Has anyone gotten theirs back yet? The only thing that really had me stuck was the autonomy of the nurse part... not sure I struck it from the right angle.

@angelaRNof4: my student mentor said to go right to the "final tasks" section of CofS. If you don't understand what they are asking, then go back to those areas. Don't worry about doing every task on the CofS unless you are struggling...

Good advice, I think. I started out by dutifully reading all of the assignments, but think I am going to just start focusing on the tasks and reading what I need to complete those. The reading is good and interesting, but hard to absorb all that information.

Still waiting for results on task 1 in NVT2 which I submitted 10/12. Autonony was a short section for me too.

Also, if you haven't figured it out yet, if you watch the recorded webinar by the course mentor that is found on the courses' community it gives you great insight on how to set up your paper, what the graders want, etc. I didn't discover it til I was halfway done with task 1- it would have saved me A LOT of time if I would have viewed that first.

Specializes in Telemetry.

I have submitted task 1 too and also uploaded my 5 interview pools. I am doing my 12 question summaries and reflection as we speak. Hopefully I can submit these later.

Also wanted to add, that I finished the A&P labs finally with flying colors, and didn't really need to dissect the pig. There are tons of websites out there that have photos and screen shots that can help you with the lab portion.

I finished my paper this morning for Community Health and am working on my genogram and can hopefully get that uploaded tonight. THANK GOD. That has been a pain in my behind and then I can move on to the other community health assignments which should be easier. I already have been making contact to get my clinical hours done, and hope to have those completed by Thanksgiving! :)

I am still working through Biochem. I absolutely can not stand this.I literally am doing about a slide every few days because I hate this. If anyone has any tips or ticks for it, help a girl out please!

My microbiology kit will arrive Monday.

That's my update! :)

Fundamental math and statistics down, hoping for algebra next week.

Tarro how was the stat. exam? I am so bad at math. I worked on statistics, struggled then gave up and moved on to something else!

I sugest following the course of study it has videos that I found very helpful, take the practice assesments, as well as the peworkouts of each section then the hw then post test if needed. the hw will tell you what was wrong, and often has videos to explain the answers. is there any particular area that is catching you?

Thanks again for the fee waiver - I applied and I will do the assessment or whatever it is called tomorrow. They said I could start Dec 1st but hoping I can sneak in by November 1st.

okay, maybe I should clarify somethings, I am studying the COS for nutrition but it seems to go in circles, I have read almost all the chapters but I feel as if I am over studying and this is the only class so far that I have even started. Can someone who has finished the nutrition class give me some clarification on this please?

Specializes in Med/Surg Nurse, Homecare, Visiting Nurse.
86toronado;

i just got my tuition reimbursement papers today to fill out and I am also wondering how to make them understand the 6 month term. My employer gives us $5000 per year as long as you maintain a B or above..thats another thing, WGU is pass /fail so I would have to ask them for letter grade equivalents..i hope I do not get turned down because of these things...

How did you work out your tuition reimbursement with your employer? My employer reimburses for six credits as long as I maintain a C or better. It's so hard, to get it worked out on my end.
