Hi everyone! Looking to see if anyone is with me to start on 1/1/13 for the RN-MSN program? Any former graduate tips would be greatly appreciated too!! :)

@marycarney, I will definately be buying the PERLA software! Thank you so much for that tip!

@NurseYari, I am anxiously waiting for my transcript eval! got my last transcript on 1/14 so I'm hoping I hear something soon. I got my first bill but I haven't been "packaged" by financial aid yet. So... how long did it take for you to hear about your transcripts and did you take any loans out???

Hi there! I know my student success kit showed up within the month of me starting, and it was awesome! All kinds of goodies!

I'm also a huge fan of the PERRLA software. Money well spent!

Best of luck to you! Hope you love the program!

Curious to see how all of you that started at the beginning of the year are doing & progressing? I am considering start in April or May. My transcripts have all been sent & received by . I just need to do the admissions assessment and make the commitment to start. I have a BS in Business and planning on the RN to MSN Leadership & Management. Is the program what you expected and are there specific questions I should ask before jumping in with both feet? Thank you & good luck to you all.

I didn't start the program at the beginning of this year, but I did start in August of last year. I originally was in the RN-BSN program but midterm I was allowed to switch to the RN-MSN education track. I truly love . I love the fact that when I finished all the coursework for my BSN I was awarded one...apparently not all schools do that. I love that the things I've learned I've been able to immediately apply to my practice. My best piece of advice is don't gauge your progress on how other people are doing or have done. Everyone has different lives outside of WGU that can aid or hinder their ability to progress through classes and tasks. Plus a class I found difficult may be very easy for you and visa versa. Be proud of every accomplishment you make and share it with others...here, on WGU's Facebook page, wherever! Your accomplishments can give someone else the motivation they need.

I'm happy to have found WGU. It fits so well with my lifestyle. My husband is currently doing his masters in something related to his job through another online university and I think I'd go crazy with his deadlines and such. I loved setting my own personal deadlines and giving myself treats when I met them (Starbucks anyone?)

Best of luck to you! Any questions you have down the road after signing onto the program can always be answered most competently by your mentor...and the people here!

I'm hoping to start this summer, I'll graduate with an associates (and hopefully pass NCLEX and start working!!) in May... Everything I've researched about this school and everything I'm reading on AN seems almost too good to be true (albeit definitely a lot of work). If you've recently started, please update us on your progress so us hopefuls can get a better idea of everything :)

Congratulations and best of luck finishing your degree. I also thought this school was too good to be true in the beginning. However it isn't (at least in my opinion). Finishing my BSN in under 6 months was better than I could have hoped for elsewhere. A MSN never even was a thought to me until I was firmly in the BSN program and loving it. I hope if you do choose WGU it will exceed your expectations as well. It's definitely work, however you're probably used to that being a student now. :)
