Washington Hospital Center Residency February 2011 COHORT

U.S.A. Washington DC

Published

Hello everyone I wanted to start a separate thread for people interviewing for the February 2011 Residency, I just got the e-mail a couple of minutes ago saying that I will be interviewing in December 16, I graduated in May and this is my first interview :uhoh3: so I am a little bit nervous.

If anybody that went to program has any tips, I will appreciate it! Thanks!:nurse:

thank you for the info.

thanks!

Within a week, I got the two emails about my gpa etc. and the interview date info. But I applied back in Nov. and had everthing set up about a month before my interview.

Hi me and another girl have actually found a three bedroom, if you would be interested in that. My email is [email protected]

My spouse nixed the idea of a move to DC at this time... So I won't be going to this interview. (I wanted to go anyway just to get interview experience, but the logistics are complicated, and either way it will be a setup for much disappointment.)

jeanette73, I would love to be in your shoes. I understand how things sometime don't fall the way we wish to.Going through the posts, I realize that I had applied around the same time you had for the residency. I got the automated email re: grades and school ,clinical info but haven't heard back since. It has been a month almost since applying. When I check the online status, it only shows the req number.

Is there a direct number in the hospital where I can voice my concerns as to what happened to my app? Any body here knows?

When you call the human resources dept they will just tell you that they don't give updates on the status of an application and that a recruiter will contact you if interested. It was about 6 weeks after I submitted my application that I received an intervew date! So keep hope alive smile.png

Yeah, it makes me kind of sad to finally get a positive response to an application and then not even showing up for an interview. I only wish a local hospital would call me!!!

i'm not from the DC area and plan to apply for a license there only upon receiving an offer. So considering the wait time now, applying for a DC license... i dont know if I can get all done by start date. that is if i ever get a call.btw, when in feb is the prgm starting?

I myself, received the email about school, specialty, etc and I havent hear from them yet.. But I am keeping my fingers cross and believing for the best before I see it.

Also, it shouldnt be a problem getting the DC license if you already have another license from another state. Im from VA and my friend got her DC license in a day, they actually told her that she could wait for it. It was just getting the application online and going to their office. both of my friends got it the same day..

good luck with everything.

Hi everyone, just wanted to inform everyone that I have rejected the offer, something very unexpected came up in my life, and its best for me to stay in Florida, so that means for those still trying there is another spot that will open up.

I wish everyone good luck on the program!!!!:heartbeat

Hey everyone! If anyone has gotten a position and wants a place to live, I am going to rent a 3 bedroom house with another girl that has been also been offered a position. It's a really nice house and LOTS of space. The rent with 3 is not too bad. If interested send me an Email at [email protected]

I have a physical and paperwork day coming up and I was wondering...is this when I will be getting all my work related information.. like pay, benefits, schedule, parking, picture for ID, etc?

Also I am in the process of obtaining my DC license... I plan I getting all my paperwork done Tuesday... Do you think this will give me enough time before the actual orientation? (DC now requires background checks.. which takes a while)... I hope I have all the required documents as well....

Thanks
