Tidewater Community College - Spring 2016 Applicants

U.S.A. Virginia

Hello all! It's a little early, but I wanted to make a new thread for all those applying this summer for TCC's Spring program! I dropped off my application this past Tuesday and am already ready for October 15th to hurry up and get here, lol!

Hello. I just applied on Wed. I have completed all of the prereq classes. My prereq gpa is 3.5 and I got a 90.86% on the HESI. I also have a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from ODU.

Good Luck to everyone!

Hey mbstab, I got a 83 overall on the hesi. I think that is why I am so nervous.

I turned mine in last Tuesday. Good thing, because I discovered when I was there that they did not receive my transcript from ODU (I had a class from there I was using toward my pre-reqs and I have a bachelor's degree from there). I requested ODU send a new transcript as soon as I got home and when I called TCC Friday to verify that they got it, they did receive it. So, that was a relief.

FutureRn0513- I was really nervous before my hesi as well, since I was taking a&p over the summer when I took mine and did not have as much time to study as I would have liked between that and work. However, I got around the same score as you (85%).

Good luck to everyone!!

Ahh mic23455 you just made me so nervous because I didn't confirm they got my official transcripts! Fingers crossed.

I mailed my application in and they received it today. 3.75 GPA overall and 95% on HESI. Previous Bachelor's so that hopefully helps. I didn't think I'd be so nervous turning the application in and sending it away. It all feels so out of my hands now! Good luck to everyone, and I can't wait to help one another get through the next couple months.

Hi, everyone!

We're officially past the application deadline!!! 🎉

Just two months till we receive our letters! Hopefully these next few months fly by quickly. Good luck to everyone and please keep in touch!

♡

Hi everybody! I just joined allnurses today, and I submitted my application last week. I have a 3.8 cumulative GPA. I have not calculated my perquisite GPA yet, but I made A's in micro and anatomy 1. I got a 89% on the HESI, and I used the Elsevier book (to those who haven't taken the HESI yet - I found the Elsevier book very helpful and I got it on Amazon for around 25 dollars). I wish you all good luck!!!! :D 😊😊

Opps I meant prerequisite* GPA

I will keep in touch and I hope the next two months fly by. I am trying not to think about it too hard. Classes start back up next week, which should help me keep my mind off of waiting for them to send out letters. But good luck to everyone!!!!!

Hello everyone,

Glad to see someone started a 2016 applicant thread. I've enjoyed following the prior years' threads for some pointers on both the preadmission and postadmission adventures of those in the program. I also applied for the spring 2016 start with preference for night/weekend cohort. My prereq. GPA is 4.0 (lacking ENG112 though) and HESI at 97%. Now just waiting for the outcome. Wishing everyone the best of luck.

Wow od2225 great job!!! :):)

Hello, Spring 2016 hopefuls! I've applied for the day cohorts. I am very excited and anxious to receive word on whether or not I will be accepted into the program. This waiting game is driving me bonkers! I applied with a 94% HESI and a 4.0 GPA. This semester I am finishing up the ODU non nursing requirements, so I will have a back up plan if I don't get accepted. I've also been looking into the concurrent option as well. Good luck everyone, and if you are enrolled in courses this semester, good luck with those as well!

Hi PedsNursing82! I am working on ODU requirements for the concurrent enrollment option as well! Are you in Chem 121 right now? The waiting game is the worst- but staying hopeful and not trying to think about it too much. Stay busy! ;)
