I am moving to NO VA next month and would like to apply to the nursing program at nvcc once I complete the pre-reqs. It says its a 2 year program but long does it usual take to complete?

Also, do you have to take math, bio and chem, or can you clep out on the entrance exam? Once you add in those three extra classes along with the other pre-req's, it seems like the program is neverending...lol TIA!

Is the test at orientation multiple choice?

Ours was not!!!! You had do proved the answer!!

For the actual drug dosage exams, same thing, provide the answer!! but in the exams you take from lecture--they always have a few calculations, and in those, they are multiple guess!

But to answer ur question,lol, the test at orientation, you provide the answer, no "a" "b" "c" or "d" DOUBLE, triple check ur work COMPLETELY!!!!! it isn't a race!! Ensure you read it correctly!!

When will we get matched up with a grade keeper.

I think (may be wrong) but you will get 1 right away! Soon after the program starts they will put a list on blackboard stating who your grade keeper is and who is your advisor. Sometimes they are the same person, sometimes they are not--and they can chg each semester. Once your start date is close, they will give you access to blackboard, like the week before, or that week!!

Is it just me or is the answer to question #41 in the math packet wrong?

1/200:150::X:1

X=(0.005x1)/150

I got 0.000033333

The answer they provided was X=3/4

The answer is correct. What you have is a ratio comparison of:

(1/200)/150 = X/1

for the right side you invert and multiply to divide the (1/200) by 150 --

(1/200)*(150/1) = 150/200

giving you:

150/200=X/1

(150*1) =200*X

150/200 =X

then reduce it and you get

3/4 = X

A big secret to fraction is to do as much canceling as you can before you grab the calculator.

And when you're doing the ratios and proportions don't confuse single and double colons.

Hope this helps even so belatedly.
