NVCC 2nd year RN Clinicals Class of 2009

Are you able to send out a class wide email on Blackboard? I don't see many 2nd yr students posting on here, think there are 2 others,lol or you can post a request on the 2nd year board outside the lab room. I would bet you probably dont have access to the NUR 216 on blackboard as you took a year off, so maybe if you contacted Mrs Folks she could assist you that, or at least give you direction. I have Friday and Tuesdays, but I'm happy with my schedule. As well keep checking the clinical schedule, as some people do drop/switch. And I believe they will be adding more clinicals, as the NUR 193 students have yet to pick their sites. One just has to keep checking, I find early in the morning works best for some strange reason.

As well keep in mind, it appeared many clinical days switched. I start off on a Friday for the first half, then the second half I switch to a Tuesday. Some you have 2-6 hr clinicals, some are 1-13 hr clinical!! Best of luck

Thanks for the advice. I have been checking every day in the morning and at night. I was also online midnight of August 1st when students were dropped for non-payment. But there really wasn't any thing that opened up. I will take your advice and post a flyer on the 2nd year board, email Ms. Folks and also post on Blackboard. Wish me luck!

Good idea to get in touch with Mrs Folks as she would have an idea if they plan on adding anymore clinicals and when they will do so. They may be waiting until NUR 193 is over with--According to blackboard, NUR 193 is completed aug 11. cheers

School wide email went out,they won't be adding anymore clinical sites! So according to that email, what you see is what you get!

They mustn't have you in the blackboard email system yet. here is what it stated:

Apparently there is a rumor going around that new clinicals will be opened soon. That is completely untrue. Two of our previously listed TBAs were canceled and room had to be found for the students who had registered for those clinicals. This has been accomplished and no further changes are anticipated.

Thank you so much. You are so helpful! I am so glad that there still are nice and wonderful people out there in this world. When I go on Blackboard, I am still registered for NUR 116. Ms. Folks says I won't be live until a week before school starts. Is there a syllabus out yet? Will we have Clinicals the first week school starts or no? Because last year they didn't have Clinicals the first week. What about Labor Day week? Will we have Clinicals that week? I know we won't have Clinicals one week in October because of testing and then the week of Thanksgiving. I am trying to get ahead of the game because I have 3 children that I have to worry about. I have to figure out who is taking care of them, who is picking them up and dropping them off at school, etc....

The first few weeks of readings were up, BUT have now been taken down, so I guess changes are being made. Fall semester starts Mon Aug 25, so if u have lab that Monday, its a go!! And yes clinicals the first week! Drug calculations exam second week. And for lab--one either has it the first 8 weeks, OR the second 8 weeks. if ya send me ur email addy (pm me) i can mail you the old readings for Psych (before taken down, so their might be changes) and the lab info. If you have "L" in th section, you have lab the first 8 weeks. if it is a "S" it is the last 8 weeks!

I should have just posted here, lol. I started a new thread that is very similar.

I am anxiously awaiting the blackboard for 216 so I can email the rest of the class to try and switch. I am trying to get one of the Tuesday and Wednesday evening sections because my work schedule shifted. I am frustrated because if I had known that, I would have just registered for the Tue/Wed clinical to begin with.

I am relieved to know some of you have heard blackboard would open early this week. I heard as late as Friday from one prof I talked to, which would be cutting it close.

I think I know someone in that rotation from the online program. We're all scared of you people in the "general population", as we keep joking about. The online program only has about 25 students in it so we're used to being with the same people all the time.
