I have a quick question for those attending TCC. I hope you'll be able to help.

I am interested in the RN program as a Second-Degree seeker. When I apply to the college, will the

Nursing Department look over my transcripts and tell me which pre-requisites I need to take? My first

degree is in Journalism, totally not nursing or medically related. However, I started my undergraduate

years as a Pre-Nursing major. So I have taken Chemistry, Bio and some related Math at the University I attended.

If you can help me, please let me know.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Nursingstudent 08. When you register you can ask a counselor what pre-reqs you need to take. Also make sure you go online and print out the nursing information packet, that is also very helpful. If you have any other questions please let me know. Also I see that you tried to send me a private message but i couldn't get it cause my mailbox was full could you please try to send to me again.

Thanks for the reply. To 2bnurseforce1, I sent you another pm, not sure if it went through or not. I guess what I really want to know is if the "Counselor" is in the Nursing Department or not. I will give the school a call tomorrow.

Thanks again

Just wanted to let everyone know I was back in the nursing class and I started in Cohort #3. Our first test was yesterday and I got a B. Is there anyone else here in that is in Cohort #3 let me know.

What about repeats in science courses to get a higher grade and what if we have an AA, also can you be currently enrolled in A&P while applying? What about students who don't live in the state, do you have to attend an information session before applying?

Hi guys just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing. Also I wanted to let everyone know I passed NUR 108 with a B. Swstephy you might want to attend the information session held at the Portsmouth Campus. The science course go by a point system. If you go online under TCC nursing website it has a packet that explains that.

I was just wondering because I am not able to attend an information session before the application deadline. I AM IN WASHINGTON STATE! I know it's held every 3rd Thursday! But can I apply and before getting into the program, do I have to attend an information session before even applying because I know it is mandatory!

I don't think you would have to attend before you apply, but it would be helpful. I will try and send you a private message with some information that might be helpful.

OH thank you so MUCH :)

hey swtstephy you dont have to attend the information session. if you go to tcc.edu and search nursing the main site will come up and you can watch an informational video online and you have to answer the questions after. The questions are so they know you watched the video...just another option instead of attending the meeting. hope this helps!

Also, i applied to the LPN-RN program at TCC in late November. I still havent heard anything! I have been told the LPN's start with the traditional RN students in May and will be 18 months long? I am still unsure of this...can anyone give me any information about when I should be hearing back from them and any info on the LPN to RN option?

Kimrah and 2bnurseforce1 you guy rock thank you so much. I'm just going to apply before march and if I don't get in because I won't have A&P done, but I will be enrolled and taking it and be done before the start of the program. I'll just reapply. Thank you guys so much!
