UTA Fall 2013

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

I also took my sciences at TCC so I could finish them on time. I didn't want to take the biology prereq for microbiology at UTA so I took that at TCC too. I had heard that taking sciences outside of UTA would count against you but that doesn't seem to be the case.

My science are TCC :)

I took chem online at TCC and the lab on campus. I thought it was pretty easy and straightforward. Not a walk in the park a little boring, but totally doable.[/quote']

Thinking about doing that too. Great professor at the campus near Saginaw. Ugh!!! So much to consider and do!!

I got in Both...I'm so excited! Just gotta figure out how to do this and have a baby. O well, GOD will make a way! To anyone that didn't get in, don't give up! When I attended UTA back in 2002, there was no way I would've gotten in with my Science background knowledge and GPA, but hey I'm in now.

That's where I took it. I would totally recommend :)

I have a bachelor of social work from UTA and 30 hours at UTA. 4.0 in science and 3.25 GPA. I wonder if having invested so much at UTA already counted at all in my favor because I have seen people with higher GPAs and one or two considerations get rejected.

It has to be the 2 considerations. I have a 4.0 science GPA and a 3.6 overall with a previous bachelors from UTA and was wait listed for AP. I wish they would take the more than 30 hours I have at UTA but they aren't in the nursing prerequisites. Also not partnered.

Is there anyone that was accepted to both that is not going to accept the AP program?

I would love to know how you all managed a 4.0 science GPA. I made in A in Biology and now I am studying my rear end off to get a B in A&P I. I am taking my 2nd exam tomorrow and lab practical. So I don't know how those will turn out yet (I feel confident, but I felt confident for my first exam as well and only made an 82). It seems that all I do is study, study, study...

Congrats to all who were accepted!!! Good work! For those who didn't, keep on - it will happen! :-)

@TWiersch... I'm about to finish my JR1 semester in the AP BSN program... I will warn you that if you feel that way now, just wait until you get into the AP program... Be prepared to say that all time... "all I do is study, study, study... " I don't think I know what it's like to relax anymore... LOL...

That's my life, with a Full Time job, wife, and kids... Plus I drive from my home to Dallas (2+ hours each way) for my weekend clinicals... But totally worth it.

Congrats to everyone accepted, for those waitlisted, don't lose hope (I was waitlisted)... You can do it!

Don

I just basically gave up sleep and my entire social life. And I took really good notes. :) The labs and lab practicals are much easier than the actual exams...at least they were when I took the class.

Oh, wow. Thanks for the info, Don! You really have your hands full. I quit my job to pursue my BSN. Can't imagine doing both.

Thanks Don. I am wait listed for AP and really hope to get a spot (I was accepted on campus). Do you know about how many off the wait list ended up getting a spot?
