UTA AP BSN program Fall 17

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

So I'm trying to see anyone is going to apply for UTA's AP BSN program the fall of 2017. I have been following threads and trying to get some information about how this program is set up. I did my application to the school last year for the Fall of this year. I'm trying to knock out my science classes, but I have withdrawal from my biology class 4 times and Im wanting to take my chemistry over the summer. Possibly doing my other 2 sciences with UTA. I haven't taken the Hesi A2, I plan to take that around the Fall. So, I just like us to update with each other and encourage each other to get into the program. I would do my stats, but I haven't taken gotten them yet. As soon as Im finished, I will post them. Everyone is free to post theirs

I'm using the admissions assessments by Elvove 3rd edition, at uta only grammar, vocabulary, reading, and mathematics are on the hesi

I'm currently taking micro now and I take chemistry in the fall

Shauntill07, Have you taken all your prerequisites?

Hi! I'm planning on applying for the fall '17 but have not finished all of my pre-reqs yet. I'm currently taking A&P2 and plan on taking Chemistry in the fall. Has anyone taken Micro yet? How hard was it? Would I be crazy to attempt Micro and Chem at the same time while working full-time?

I'm taking Chem and Micro in the fall as well while working full-time and taking care of three children. I'm wondering if it's doable or am I setting myself up for failure?

I'm only taking A&P2 right now and I'm having a hard time so I'm worried about taking both Micro and Chem. I was thinking maybe I'll swap Micro for statistics, maybe that'll be easier. You have your hands full! I have a four year old that keeps me pretty busy too. I'll be glad to get all of these pre-reqs out of the way!

I'm worried about those classes as well and yes I do have a full plate. Hopefully the nursing program will recognize my dedication and see that I am dedicated to getting into their program.

Hi everyone! I will be applying to start the program in Fall 2017 as well! I've completed all of my non-science prerequisites, and I'm currently in A&P 1. I'm taking A&P 2 and Microbiology in the Fall. I'm contemplating retaking Chem because I made a C at my previous college, but I'm hoping since I'll be taking 12 out of my 16 sciences at UTA, and that I have a previous Bachelor's and Master's degree, it can make up for it. Do you all think I should retake it? I'm doing really well in my A&P 1 (crossing my fingers for an A) and I think I'll do pretty good in my other 2 science courses as well.

are y'all taking the prereqs online with UTA? or taking the general ones at another institution. If y'all are taking classes with UTA online.. are they easy to manage? I have 2 children, Fiance and working full time at the moment as an EMT. we have a bunch of downtime at work.anyways what would y'all recommend to start with.. And if we are applying for the 2017 Fall... when do our prereqs need to be completed. Im trying to figure out if it would be better to do my prereqs at a community college or go ahead and start the general prereqs with UTA..

Another former high school here!;)

I earned my BS oversea 12 years ago and got a MS here in Houston with a totally different field. Working full time in a civil firm, which completely out of Medical field.

Just applied to UTA for general admin. Taking pre in local community college and hoping to get accept for Fall 2017 or Spring 2018.

It's a long journey, and we will fight for it.

Hello, I am also wanting to apply for UTAs BSN program for fall 2017. I now have all my sciences finished and taking patho in the fall and intro and pharm in the spring. Many of you have mentioned applying in December? I thought the application was to be turned in Jan 5th? I am now confused on the dates!

Well, I guess we mentioned Dec instead of Jan because you can't wait till Jan to submit all your documents lol
