UTA AP BSN program Fall 17

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

So I'm trying to see anyone is going to apply for UTA's AP BSN program the fall of 2017. I have been following threads and trying to get some information about how this program is set up. I did my application to the school last year for the Fall of this year. I'm trying to knock out my science classes, but I have withdrawal from my biology class 4 times and Im wanting to take my chemistry over the summer. Possibly doing my other 2 sciences with UTA. I haven't taken the Hesi A2, I plan to take that around the Fall. So, I just like us to update with each other and encourage each other to get into the program. I would do my stats, but I haven't taken gotten them yet. As soon as Im finished, I will post them. Everyone is free to post theirs

I'm the same position as you I currently teach high school and I'm transitioning into nursing I plan on applying in December for fall 2017, I plan on taking the hesi2 this summer, so far I've taken professional nursing, technical writing, dev psychology and art this summer I'll be taking micro, ap I, and statistics, I hope to be done with my prerequisite by December with the exception of patho & pharm which I'm going to take at the same time as well.
Wow! I wish you the best of luck. You are on a great path and I hope this forum keeps everyone encourage to make it through.

That's cool that we are both coming from a teaching background. My best friend is a teacher as well and going through the program! Good luck to you!

Ugh Biology! That was a hard class. I thought I understood it when reading, but the tests were killer!

That is exactly how biology is to me. I understand, but as soon as I take the test it's almost as if I never learned the material.

Hello! I also plan on applying for the AP Online BSN for 2017! I've got a week to go with A&P2, taking Micro over the summer & Chem in the fall! I also wish I could have started in the spring, but single mom of 3, going to school full time & I work full time as a medical assistant! Sometimes I want to scream, but I know the pay off is going to be worth it! Wish the best of luck to you ladies!

Hello everyone!

So unfortunately I will not be attending UTA's AP BSN program due to a grade that I received some semesters ago. I was denied to start in the Fall of 2017. My grade will expire in 2019, which is a 3 year setback for me. I am going to retake the class and pass it but I will not be attending UTA which I am very upset about, because this was the school I wanted to get in.

I want to know if anyone knew any AP BSN programs in Texas that I could possibly apply to. I live in Dallas, TX.

Thank you all for your encouragement to each other and I wish yall the best of luck!

Don't let that stop you. I was denied my first time applying and now I'm waitlisted. I keep a positive mind. You are also allowed to replace the grade. If your heart is set on it, don't give up.

With that being said, there are a few other programs out there. Do you hold a Bachelor's degree in another subject?

That is a positive mindset to look at it. I ask my advisor was it possible to retake the class, pass and reapply. She told me that I could do that, but I would still have to wait until 2019 to reapply. Another option she told me was to go for my ADN and then apply for their RN to BSN, which I think I'm going to go for.

This is my first degree. So for the past 4 years, I've working my butt off, with a full time job to try to get my Bachelor's but I guess God has another path for me.

I wish you good luck with the program, you get in. Hopefully you will not have to wait too long.

Greetings everyone! I am applying for UTA's Fall 2017 AP Online program as well. It'll be great to hear and talk to you all while on this journey. I look forward to interacting with you!

Hello everyone, I plan to apply to UTHSC, TWU, UTA, Lone Star, and HCC after I finish my pre-reqs this fall. I attempted to take the Hesi and Teas test but did not score as high as I wanted to. I plan on retaking both exams eventually before applying to the programs. I have attended three colleges throughout my college career and do not have the best GPA at two of them. The school I am currently attending my stats are as follows:

Overall GPA: 2.5

Pre-Req GPA: 3.5

Science GPA: 4.0

Have you taken all you're prerequisites? I'm currently taking my last few prerequisites along with the hesi this summer I'm also applying for the fall of 2017.

I've taken everything but Micro and Chem. I'm scheduled to retake the Hesi on June 24. What did you use to study with?
