Hello,

I'm interested in checking to see how many of you travel in a RV? What your experiences have been? If it has worked well for housing? Do you get a housing reimbursement for this way of traveling? (mileage, utilities and site rent)

I would like to start traveling next year and would love to have my own RV(home) with me.

Thanks for the input!

Many travel nurses use their RV's. I don't know that much about it but I'd say, off the top of my head, you might be limited to position by the nearness of RV parks and the time of year. Also, you need to either tow a car or some other means of transportation to work. Maybe a spouse could drive the car.

When I've read about it many like it so they don't have to pack and un pack. Also their own bed etc.

Take the housing stipend and go from there.

But make sure you have a true tax home or you'll pay taxes on that stipend.

Good luck

i'm planning to travel with my husband in our boat when the child goes to college! we'll be quite limited as to where we can go -- there has to be water accessible from the chesapeake, where we are now. but our plan is to travel down the east coast, then take some time off and go through the panama canal, then travel up the west coast to alaska. if we take long enough, we can then retire and sail around the world -- but that's another fantasy!
