Need some advise if i should except a position of what its like for keiser on sunset? and whats life like in l.a?? I was in san fran for 8 months last year and LOVED it, however i know l.a. is different. Just don't how! Would be coming across country. Money not a huge deal. just interested in life in l.a. I hear the traffics bad: (( Im very down to earth, any people like that there? What kind of fun to be had? I know these may sound crazy, just not sure what to expect! Thanks in advance for your help!

Came to LA from the Bay area some time back and I would give anything to go back from whence I came. No love for the LA area. Just not pleasant living or working at all. But that is my experience. As a traveler, you have the option to leave at the end of your assignment. Makes things more tolerable.

wowww! what did you not liike about LA? Not fun? People not nice? Weather? I'd love to hear! thx

Hey there! I can't be of much help, but I am looking to take my first assignment out in L.A or San Diego within the next month or so and am curious if you ended up taking an L.A assignment... I would love to know if you did, how it's going for you. I am a new traveler and am a little nervous about where to go for my first assignment. How was San Francisco??? I've heard lots of positive things about that area...Thanks s

Job offers I received in Ca. were very low........paying. Would you PM me with your company and pay if you don't mind?

Hey, no I didn't take the la assignment! However, I've been to san francisco and I have to say that I love that area and still miss it to this day! Everyone there was sooo nice for a big city! Lots to do, see, shop, and eat! Weather literally inside the city sucked, d/t the bay breeze. However you can go 30 mmins north, south, or east and the weather is PERFECT! Haven't been to san diego but have never heard anything but good things about that area! Good luck and keep us all updated

i spent almost a whole year in LA last year, both at a kaiser and at cedars. the kaiser facility was west LA and i am an ICU nurse and it was AWFUL. tho if you talk to most people kaiser won't rank very highly in general. cedars was...well...not the best either. as far as living in LA i loved it. the weather was pretty much always beautiful and i was living in north hollywood so i was just far enough away. traffic there is truly unlike anything anywhere else. anytime between 8am and 830pm the 705 is 7 lanes of stopped traffic i am not even kidding. i lived 7 miles from work and it was easily 45 minutes to work, 1.5hrs home. once it took my friend 2 hrs to get to work from where we lived. it is ridiculous. as for the people, you will literally find every kind of person there. i'm very laid back as well and i met some of my closest friends while i was in LA. of course, they were both travelers, so...take that how you want it ;) i see you said money wasn't an issue and that's good...'cause i barely made a dime! but it was an experience, and it'll look good on my resume, and i met some amazing people. so i wouldn't trade it for anything. guess from all the comments i'll have to be sure to hit up the north land before i hang up my travellin hat ;) good luck!!!

I'm on my second contract in LA and I love it here!! The assignments?? not exceptional but not all that bad either. I did my first at Kaiser Sunset and now I'm at Kaiser West LA. So much to do here in LA and the surrounding area. And the weather is amazing!!! the only downfall is the traffic...but I've lived in many cities (ie. boston and houston) with traffic just as bad if not worse at times.

Reconsider LA..you might just love it too
