I've been in Colorado for 3 assignments now. Wanted to start traveling. I find that here in Colorado, I'm not making much more than back home. Now I realize that I'm not supposed to be making a crazy amount of money. I mean, it's really all about the experience. Right? But....I've been told that Colorado is not the state to make some green. So, I want to hear from the more experienced travelers. Where should I be if I want to make that green?

Specializes in Peds, ER/Trauma.

Northern California generally has the highest paying assignments.

Avoid the Southern States at all costs. and Colorado is one of the lower paying states.

California pays well. Washingotn DC area pays well and the NorthEast pays well.

I'm in New Hampshire making about $40 per hour. And I get to enjoy some snow and mountains. Granted they are no where near the size of the ones in CO.

I am in Wyoming and I am currently getting $35.00 per hour plus they provide my housing.

Where in Colorado are you? What kind of nursing do you do? I've heard Colorado pays $40 + housing and traveling for ICU nurses. 30-34++ for tele/MS.

When I was looking at Colorado, never was a 40 dollar an hour figure thrown about for almost all areas of CO. I am an ER nurse though so perhaps we are paid less. It may pay more in the times when there is no skiing, but Unless it si for an independent contracting contract, I have never sene rates that high

I'm on assignment in Sacramento making $43/hour plus $1250/month housing....not to bad for 12 hour dayshift

I want to move to florida... has anyone worked down there on a medsurge telemetry unit?? What is the pay? What is also the rent? If anyone has information please let me know

I live in california and want to travel to Colorado. I know they start at about 23/hr. Would a travel nurse make more then that or do they just pay what the hospital pays?

I worked in FL last year. I really enjoyed working on a CV Stepdown Unit in Ft. Myers, FL. It was at Healthpark Medical Center. The people on nightshift was great. The money was decent. I took the housing subsity from my company and rent a house in Cape Coral. It is an assignment I would consider returning too. Just an FYI they do the PBDS test. I understand most hospitals in FL does it now.

I hope this was helpful.:D
