  1. Just think of how much you could make if you could contract your own assignments. The second job I ever went on I somehow got a copy of the backend contract with the hospital and staffing agency. They were getting $68 per hour and paying me $36. I understand they were paying for housing and insurance and all but jeez, talk about overhead.
  2. I have worked with RN Network for the last two years off and on. I think I have done about 7 assignments with them. Right now I am working for them and Cross Country. The assignment is subcontracted through Cross Country. I really like RN Network. They have given me great rates and I get paid weekly except this assignment because of Cross Country's biweekly. Cross Country has also complicated things because every check I get seems to be wrong and I have to call and get it fixed on the next one. Probably because of things getting lost in translation between two companies. Hopefully it gets better because I just took my next assignment with RN Network and it is also subcontracted through Cross Country. We'll see how the payroll works out on the next job.

My fiance and I travel and she makes me pack everything but the kitchen sink. We just bought a cargo trailer after renting uhauls for the last two years. The moving seems like a job in itself sometimes...

It really has taken MI a long time for me. Everytime I have ever gotten a new license it takes from 2-4 weeks for them to send verification. So to me that is quite long. It just means I need to decide absoultely where I want to go that much sooner and then get the ball rolling. If they were on Nursys I wouldn't have to worry as much about if the state I am trying to get licensed in is going to get the info from MI in time for my next assignment. I wouldn't mind paying the fee to Nursys every time considering I already pay it to MI to do it all by snail mail. I really wish all states were part of the compact. That would make things so much easier. Then no one would have to deal with issues like this.

I'm in New Hampshire making about $40 per hour. And I get to enjoy some snow and mountains. Granted they are no where near the size of the ones in CO.

I wish I lived in a compact state. Michigan is my state and they suck. You can't even verify by nursys. You have to do it all by snail mail and pay like $30 bucks for them to take their sweet old time. It's time for all states to get compact or at least verify online. It is the 21st century of cying out loud.
  7. My personal favorite are Dickies. I have a bunch of them and they have aged fairly well.
  8. I use my htc ppc6800 with davis drug guide. I have a stethoscope, scissors, clamps, carpujet, pens and a cool little led flashlight that clips to my pocket.
